What is your favorite time period so far? What things do you like about it? What are your favorite songs of the time? Favorite cars? What are fun facts about the decade?

This thread is a good way to speak your mind on our history, as well as learn from others about the decades, and gives a chance to let others maybe form a love for our history.

My favorite time period would have to be 1957-1978. There were so many innovations and inventions, odd yet good taste in styles. I would say My favorite cars from the period would have to be the 1958/9 Plymouth Belvedere, 1959 Oldsmobile 98, and 1973 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. My favorite songs would be Stay by Maurice Williams (1960) and Happy by Brick (1977). The architectural, furniture, and clothing fashions of the time were very unique and cool.

I was born in 1997 so anything I know about times before that is likely a romanticised "nostalgia goggles" version of everything, but the period of around 1990-1995 always seemed like a good time to me.

The internet was just starting to take off in around 1993, it quickly became big but not big enough for all of the terrible things related to it today (ie. privacy issues, social networking), the music was good, the music from before 1990 was obviously still around, everyone seemed friendlier, everything seemed more "free" and less serious. Everything you see in media like television shows and film, especially those set in the US, seemed more lazy and relaxed before 2001.

I would say early 80s to mid 90s.
    Because...

Yep, even though I was one, 2001 seemed to have tensed everyone and everything up a bit from what I've heard of pre-01

Anybody specifically design their room/home to match a certain time period? I picked 60s colors for my walls (turquoise with a gray accent wall), made a painting to match the art-deco atomic era of the 60s, along with some mad-men style dressers, bed, and atomic light cover and starburst mirror extremely similar to the one pictured.

1990's. But, I would have to say I love the 68' Alfa Romeo Duetto Spyder, which is late 60's to early 70's.

1950s. You don't get these giant, stylish cars anymore!

So I noticed at school that a lot of people are starting to wear palazzo and bell bottom pants of the 70s and they are getting big here in SE Michigan. Honestly I wouldn't mind this style coming back, I can just imagine seeing people walking the halls with "ugly" plaid bell bottoms and button up shirts. Remember guys you don't have to stick to cars specifically in this thread, just so it doesn't come off as that. But yeah, this week at school 3 girls showed up wearing palazzo pants and 2 guys were dressed like the guys in the pic (Lowkey hoping this makes a comeback)

I prefer the 3050s BC. The bronze age non-combustion cars were the bomb.

I enjoyed 2013 the most, because Trump didn't say anything about being president...

I enjoyed 2012 the most because everybody believed the world was going to end, but it turns out the Mayans were trolling us.

I enjoyed 3055 BC, because Shahjahan made our tribes great again.

I think they just got lazy and said 'screw it, if we keep thinking syrups made of spree sal and bugs will keep us from being sick, we won't survive another ten years...'
