It would be cool to have Beam NG drive for PS3 Or Xbox 360 maybe even the PS4 or Xbox 1. I would buy it and the Beam NG company would make more money. Same if they put it on steam or if more youtubers' play the game. If Pewdiepie plays it i'm sure your money would go sky high. He gets about 1,000,000 subscribers a day!

It will maybe reach Steam in the future. Consoles are not an option.

This has been discussed many times before. It wont happen, the consoles aren't powerful enough, it costs to make the disks, licensing, and advertisements aswell as the fact that the engine would then have to be optimized for a different architecture.
    But, no, it wont happen.

True about the systems, but you could do a digital download instead of disks.
Like they do now with the PC version

The puny processors in the PS4 and Xbone, much less the PS3 and X360, would have no chance of running the collision calculations smoothly in the games current form.

Clockspeed is incredibly important for this game to run. Last I checked, both new consoles had a CPU frequency of >2GHz, slower than most laptop CPUs, which struggle with the game. Yes, they have more cores, but as cars are run on a single thread, clockspeed is also important. I can only imagine how nightmarish multithreading a single vehicle to compensate would be, and even then you could only have 2 or 3 cars before your first significant slowdown. Not to mention a gamepad doesn't have nearly enough buttons (If you play with one now, you find yourself reaching for the keyboard rather frequently). Something tells me this game, like most indie sandbox games, will thrive on community content just as much as official content, which is something I don't believe Sony nor Microsoft would be willing to support. Additionally, the game engine (Torque3D) currently only supports DirectX, throwing out any iteration of any console other than XBox.

TL;DR The consoles are simply too weak hardware wise, most don't support an API usable by the game and the one that does is backed by a company who wouldn't be willing to allow modding or other multiplatform behavior under any circumstances.

I don't think it would be a good idea for that "pewdiepie" to get BeamNG because a huge wave of idiots will crash through BeamNG, and that won't be good at all.

The PS3 is on it's way out as the Ps4 is going to be thrust into the consumer's lap, and this generation of consoles seems to have lost some magic. No-one's excited about them; I haven't heard anyone talk about the new Xbone or the Ps4 in real life. Remember when the Ps3 and 360 came out? That was a thing I heard people on about for about 9 months. There's no evidence investing in console development is really worth it for an indie game company, especially one like BeamNG who has a specific audience. This product appeals to a very niche market, not a large base of casual gamers who want dumbed down gameplay and grind-y points systems. The last or even this generation of consoles probably won't ever be seen running BeamNG without some intrepid modder going out there and doing it himself. Frankly, I doubt anyone with the technical skills to do so have much interest in porting NG.

and well, here's what concerns me about you pitching all this publicity for an alpha game. Also attracting the attention of Pewdiepie? I'm not sure how he got popular, all he does is scream and it’s given birth to the most obnoxious YouTuber fan base thus far. No, we don't need that kind of thing happening to the community and I personally don't want to see an influx of fanboys. Here's the thing, Nerd[SUP]3[/SUP], Robbaz, Kurtkmac and JaimsWallace have accrued a large audience of people who are into simulations, indie games, racing games and physics engines; the things these people make videos about. Those are the kinds of people that BeamNG would want to attract and well... BeamNG already have managed that without going to consoles.

There’s also the 3 million views that the first ever BeamNG video got. That was phenomenal for a YouTube video. We don't really need more, y'know? This is sort of when you let things grow naturally. We don't have a game yet; this is still deeply ingrained in its alpha stage and may be for quite a long time. The more I think about it, the more I think the dev team made a mistake in how they handled alpha release in that we may suffer minecraft syndrome here. You ideally want people coming in at the end of development, when you have something truly polished to show off where its an amazing new thing to be excited about. NG is unique in that it has something extraordinarily impressive to show off but I’m not sure it makes it immune. Early alpha access is something that should have been left reserved for the die hard fans of this kind of thing who would review it on an almost scary level of detail.

I would have really tried to discourage people buying with a warning that if people are expecting much to do other than drive and crash cars in a solo environment then they should wait until it’s finished. This was advertised as “here’s a game with upcoming features” and look at people getting frustrated with the lack of new content in a game with not much in terms of a "game". Its not a game, its a tech demo for some crazy fun physics simulation. Save publicity for when we have a stage we can all call "finished" and open up to the world in a massive way with the best vehicle simulator ever.
