Personally.... I would want neither... I want Good Handling and Power. But if I had to I would go with fuel efficient because one plus to fuel efficiency is lightness so there must be some good cars left to chose from.

    Fuel Efficient
I want a little hatchback powered by the hopes and dreams of 3 cylinders.
I want an engine whose power output isn't even measured in horsepower.
I want an engine whose 0-60 time is measured in a geological time scale.
I want a manual transmission with 5 speeds of which you'll only ever use the last 2 downhill.
I want a body made from the finest and highest grade tinfoil-sheet metal alloys.
I want a serpentine belt that powers nothing but the alternator, crank, and waterpump.
I want four tires that, combined, have the same amount of road contact as an over-inflated bicycle.
I want to fill the gas tank once every two months with the spare change under the drivers seat.

    Screw safety :p

An old friend once told me, when buying or building a fun car, you can make it fast, safe, or cheap, but you can only pick 2.

Based on the contents of my garage, I prefer to go with safe and cheap. although I do have one car that's fast and cheap. I lack any vehicles that are safe and fast, by deductive reasoning I suppose that means I'd prefer a safe car, as I built only 1 of the 5 vehicles with mileage in mind.

Miata is always the answer. Even if it means it's unsafe.

Neither; fast, loud, and safety be damned.

Give me a Volvo and you got a match.
I rather be alive than fuel efficient. Its but it comes like handling and volvos, fuel efficiency is a safety feature.

What about the lead sleds with no mileage of old?

The kind my dad could ram into a brick wall and not have his parents be any the wiser?

The world at large was unaffected, and would continue to be unaffected by the number of traffic deaths had at that time.

Proof or you have a typo. Even if you have a completely invincible car, a deceleration like that will most probably kill you.
Maybe you meant 110 KMH? That's possible.

Ah whoops, I misinterpreted this article:
    http://insideevs.com/tesla-reveals-details-last-years-fiery-model-s-wreck-mexico/
Still a pretty disastrous wreck, and the fact that the driver survived is impressive. In a crash like that, it is almost certain that a gas-powered vehicle would also catch fire.

“…vehicle impacted a roundabout at 110 mph, shearing off 15 feet of concrete curbwall and tearing off the left front wheel, then smashing through an eight foot tall buttressed concrete wall on the other side of the road and tearing off the right front wheel, before crashing into a tree.”

"With the help of other drivers, the driver got out of the car and boarded a private vehicle in which he fled."
