    Lumina/ Monte Carlo and
    BMW and
Both cars have cons like the size of the Lumina and the BMW being really unreliable but both have pros like the Lumina have front bench seat and is FWD while the BMW is RWD. Also Monte Carlo/Lumina get's 18 MPG (7.6 KM/L) while the BMW get's 22 MPG but it can go low as 19 MPG (9.3 KM/L and 8.0 KM/L)
I would pick the Lumina/Monte Carlo because A I live in upstate New York so having FWD would be great and B it have a front bench seat so you can fit six people in it, which is better than the the seats the BMW have yeah sure the BMW might have nicer seats but the Monte Carlo have a arm rest

BMW will have more spares available then, and it would not have to be imported. also i prefer the look even though i am usually a fan of cars like the MC

The BMW is a cooler car and will be more of a classic so I would go Beemer.

Why would you even consider buying a Lumina lmfao.

But seriously, do like I did and get the BMW, possibly a 318i or 318is with a manual, you're gonna have tons of fun in it, and they're relatively cheap to modify.

Because it's FWD so driving in the winter is a breeze and it has front and rear bench seats so you can fit about 6 people in it.

I daily drive my 1993 BMW 318i and as long as I'm not being stupid, it's pretty good in the rain and snow.

Also I'm pretty sure state laws don't allow 3 people sitting on the front bench seat.

Lumina of course. BMW is completely undesirable to me and I don't see any coolness in it. It crumples like a tin can, 95% of the ones offered for sale have small engines (mostly diesel) and RWD, they are everywhere (mostly in junkyards and farmers' fields though), almost all reasonably priced specimens are beaten to hell and, finally, E36 is the same to our gopniks as Vauxhall Corsa is to British chavs.
Also Lumina is a very rare car in my country.

Neither; both are absolute trash. Take what you'd give for them and make a down payment on a decent, reliable vehicle. Also it's "Series," not "Serious." Christ, this thread is a wreck.

If it was cheap enough I'd buy a Monte Carlo. They aren't good looking cars by any stretch of the imagination, but as long as you watch the intake manifold gasket and antifreeze, it'll keep going for a long time - it may not run great, but it'll run like crap for a long time. Highest milage one I ever saw was 272000~ miles, only given up to auction because the interior was awful.

You can make it look good it just late 90's GM do get a bad rap for being unreliable which is kinda true but any large car that isn't a pickup from the 90's was shit

The bodies and interiors will fall apart long before the drivetrain will. The 3.8 V6 will be one of a select few engines still running after the apocalypse. With the 3.8, so long as you watch the intake manifol, alternator, and do your maintenance, will carry you well beyond 250000miles.
As a bonus, if by some weird way you blow the 3.8 - a new engine doesn't cost thousands (looking at you, BMW) but more like 600 to 800 dollars.
