Why so much hate on the new SiXT map?

Honestly the map is very mid, but its definitely not bad enough for the amount of hate.

The main think spoken about it is the advertisements, which I think is unjustified. It may be that I am very used to capitalism, due to how bad capitalism in Canada is (Three companies own all the grocery stores, meaning it costs waaay to much to eat. And most houses are owned by corporations, blah blah blah I will never have a chance to buy) But the ads on the map are still not that bad.

 

Yeah, imo the map is very much mid, and yes the advertisements in the map aren't THAT bad. But I personally don't think companies should use the BeamNG forums / mod repository for advertising at all. Like yes, no-one's forced to download it, but the fact that a company (and a very large one at that) is doing this at all is kinda what irks me personally.

think of it this way, if a large company is advertising here it means BeamNG is really growing.

 

True! It's great to see BeamNG grow so much, especially as a long time player. However I do hope that this won't become a thing that'll be normalized, I liked not seeing ads : p

 

It's a mid map with 0 optimization (many things don't have lods) and it's an ad
People hate ads, they don't like being advertised to in every place possible

 

Agree with the optimization, I get like 15 fucking FPS, but theres barly any ads

 

its not the ads in the map, its the being advertised to everywhere you go in the internet/irl, as in now theres also ads in the repository, and people dont want that

 

It’s a part of life now. We are slowly going towards that cyberpunk dystopia in north america…

 

If people push back against it, no, bullying big corpos out of the repository is the right thing to do, which is what people are doing by giving 1 star reviews

Life is being taken by corporations and theres not much to do about it. Here in Canada I know I will likely never get to buy a house, and will likely live with my parents for most of my 20s. I know I can’t afford the insurance for a car till I am in my late 20s. I know grocery prices are worse and worse here, every grocery store is owned by one of three companies. Canada has way less disposable income compared to places like the USA. I wish i lived in Spain like you, I have been there and it’s beautiful. Your food is so fucking cheap, I could have a whole fresh meal from a local grocery store for $10. Here I could barely get a bag of chips for that.

Sorry for the rant, I love Canada, but I wish I was born earlier.

 

its inevitable because you're allowing it to happen. This kind of apathy is what _allows_ big corpos to push like this. Community pushback like what we're seeing in the reviews reminds them they they are at our mercy, and we wont stand for it here.

 

I know it can be stopped here, but its still inevitable

 

I don't think it should be banned persay, but I do think that it should be heavily discouraged.
