Admins, Owners, Developers, who ever decides about the price of this great game. This game is amazing AND in alpha. I know that a alpha game shouldn't be good, but this alpha game, is dang amazing, so my question is, Why are you guys selling the game for so chear? 11.00,-!
I'm guessing it's going to be like Minecraft was. Cheaper in alpha (I think MC was like $15) and the price goes up as the game gets nearer to completion. I'm sure the devs feel that the price is fair for right now.
yep, right. When they reach Beta they set higher price. When they reach Version 1.0 there will a standard price like other games have^^
There is one simple answer to that question: The devs aren't money whores, and they actually care about the people who purchase their game Good: Bad:
Yes, it is totally fair to compare a tiny little startup like BeamNG to a corporate monolith like EA.
TO be fair, of all the corporate monoliths out there EA are certainly the biggest money grabbers there are (besides apple). Of all the game devs, EA are the most twattish.
Wait to they get big and sellout like the Oculous. I am not saying they don't care, but money is money. : )
I sure hope they don't sell out, the devs do seem to be very focused on quality, but just like you said: money is money.
Meh, EA is starting to get better. Still money whoring, but hey, they aren't Ubi and thats enough for me.
Not seen the sims 4 fiasco where its already confirmed that pools and toddlers will be later DLC packs? They demoed battlefield 4 paid DLC before the game was even finished, if you've made the content before the games launch, stick it in the game, to me it just read as them making the game and then cutting a few maps off just for the purpose of charging more cash for them. Microtransactions in dead space. EA care nothing about the consumer, only money whoring.
Don't worry In a year we will raise the price to $15,000 and only sell the game to people who own yachts
And the next year, you could also add the requirement for people to own at least one Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder, and McLaren P1 along with that yacht, and double the price.
what about the people who bought the game before, will you make ALL the cars except the pigeon 20,000 dollar DLCs?
IT's ok EA is slowly being phased out. Just look at this game and others like it that are being developed by four people or around that many depending on the game. It just goes to show you that developers can get their games out there without some corporation that is run by a board of directors that has no clue about what consumers want or how to please them they only know about their own bottom line. The main problem with companies like EA, Activision and Ubisoft are they put restrictions on devs not only with time but also with the content they want in the game and then stuff to be saved for DLC. They also push their own direction for games to try and make them the most marketable possible which ends up watering the game down so it appeals to more people. With games like this and Intruder where the devs eliminate the publisher and allow the community to become involved in the development it ends up creating a game that people want as well as helping people to understand how game development works. Yes it is a slow process and knowing that, that is why we see games like BF4 and annual sports game launch riddled with bugs because those titles are not given enough development time to be fully finished. Game development is like good BBQ the longer it takes (usually) the better it is. We'll just gloss over Duke Nukem Forever...
DNF stayed in the burner for too long, while the original person ran out of propane, and someone else took over, serving it half-cooked.
Not sure about that...I'm a big Sims fan and it looks like they're really messing up the up and coming Sims 4 base game by taking out features that have been there since Sims 1. They said they'll put that stuff in later. However, knowing EA, it'll be an expansion pack for $30 :L
Others have answered. The game is in very good shape, but it is still being formed so things may break on updates and etc... they could've gone the normal route and charged full price and fixed bugs and released updates as users complained. http://www.technobuffalo.com/2014/0...ys-core-gamers-are-uncomfortable-with-change/ Nah, they're pretty deep in the shit pool and still digging. Plus what they did to SimCity is unforgivable... and now we'll likely not see another SC for yet another decade. On the other hand, Ubisoft admitted drm won't stop piracy. And the Sims (2,3) are a joke... the content/expansion packs are ridiculously overpriced.
"Nah, they're pretty deep in the shit pool and still digging." I'd make a Sims 4 joke, but I doubt any of you would get it...
