Why is it that @Instant Winrar is hated upon for a difference of opinions?

As of late on this forum, I've seen him make many statements & opinions regarding paid mods (oft constructive ones might I add), usually on the side against the very idea, and in turn he receives much in the way of hate for these statements in spite of bringing up very valid points about them. Effectively, his side of the debate on all that mess is censured and oppressed ASAP by others. Surely there isn't much harm in the points he brings up about that side of BeamNG.Drive modding. So, why must some here feel the need to oppress others over their opinions, view points et al. in the Paid Mods discussion?

 

He has a habit of talking like a gentleman, but if you read between the lines of his extensively long paragraphs and actually look at what intent he is trying to express, you will see that he is actually saying pretty negative, hateful stuff, contrary to most of the majorities' opinions here. When someone makes a thread reporting a problem they have with the game, he will then "politely" interject and suggest, through his strangely verbose paragraphs, that they quit playing the game. If someone wants to politely voice their opinion on something, such as a paid mod section in the in-game repository, he will tell them that their opinion is useless and will never be heard or considered. He uses his complex gentlemanly demeanour to hide his ways of expressing hate through turning them into eloquent, lengthy sentences.

I once used to fall for his tricks and believe that all his actions were of good intent, however it took wits to actually, fully read through his entire posts and fully realize the harsh, condescending viewpoints he tries to express.

Also, the majority of the BeamNG community, after a long war, has finally, albeit grudgingly, reluctantly settled on accepting paid mods into its community, because we all understood how the paid mod makers are trying to support their current life through these paid mods so they can earn a few extra dollars for support. Although, I assure you, they won't turn into the $150 paid mods Assetto Corsa has now. That's their trade-off, to make sure their mods don't cost more than the game itself.

 

To add onto this, I've encountered/interacted with him way before he started doing the "distinguished gentleman" schtick. Hard to say it wasn't any better than now.

 

I'm a simple man: I hate the way he talks, especially because its so forced.

 

Please disregard the naysayers good sir, such responses are typical of individuals that have their views and morals challenged by fact. This is simply the state of our world, where anyone pushing progress and ideas is guaranteed to meet stiff opposition.
Reception of my concepts and ideas ideas has become warmer with time, with support steadily growing by the thread. It is still entirely possible that they will eventually grow wary of their behaviour; as this community is an outlier within the comparatively vast 3rd party scope of BeamNG - but time is needed for this undertaking.

I agree with that guy about the paid mods, but the way he talks just sounds so pompous and "look at me I'm so proper and special".

 

honestly talking to him in private, he's actually really chill. I have no idea why people hate him. he's just an internet troll, if you don't like him pay no attention to him

Also, it sounds like "I am proper and important and you people are the skum of the earth".

 

To me, Instant Winrar is the Shakespeare of the BeamNG forums due to the way he writes. Personally, it's interesting, and it shouldn't affect me; after all, I mind my own business and not someone else's.
