Where did "agree" and "informative" ratings go?

    I just noticed, the agree and informative are gone. What happend???

    Really hoping this is maintenance and not blatant removal, if it is at least let the community vote on what they want to keep. I'm all for the extended set of like, dislike, agree, disagree, awesome, funny, useful, and informative that were available for a short period a few years ago.

    Informative basically became the passive agressive version of "f*ck you" lately, so it made some sense to remove it
    Agree, I can't fathom why it went the way of the dinosaurs

    We had:
    - People using informative to spam other people
    - People using informative in a sarcastic way, to mean the exact opposite

    In the past month alone, 1/4 of the reports were related of the misuse of that rating.
    If it gets (mis)used like that, and only cause more drama and work for the moderation team, it can go.

    Agree just went along, at the end of the day the like button can do its role. Simple was and is better.

    Why not actually ask the community what they would like instead of just removing it? You know, the ones that are actually using the forum? o_O

    So, do we have to see people spamming these stupid agree post and macros for a while now?
    I already had to delete 9 of them from this thread. It's a childish way to show your reasons.

    We were pretty sure some would not like that, but at the end of the day it's our decision.
    You will have to get along of that.

    Also, it's just imaginary internet points

    The people who actually care about ratings are the ones who actually the use the forum, the ones who aren't bothered would barely post here. I'd bet money that if you opened this up to a vote people would want ratings back.

    I kindly disagree with that.

    I do understand you and many others liked the ratings, and myself think it was a nice way to differentiate the reactions.
    But when you have more people spamming than using them properly, causing drama and more work to moderate, it's non-sense to our eyes.


    Again, it's fake internet points. Most won't care now, even more won't care in a few days/weeks.

    Do you have statistics on what ratings were "spam" vs "used properly"? Sounds like a very hard thing to measure. If moderating is too much then lets keep the ratings and delete the report button or something :cool:
