SOLVED When I create a .mis file, how come I cannot find it anywhere on my laptop?

When I create a .mis file for making a new map, In the area sab put it in one of my folders, but it doesn't show up in there. I look at my home screen and find it but when I copy and paste it into a new folder for creating it says, "Item Not Found". Can somebody help me with this? Every time I create a .mis file it does this. What am I doing wrong?

*edit* I figured out that if I open it with Notepad++ It says that "File does not exist, create it?" You have to click yes so it can show up in your folder that you need it for.

 

Is this situation solved? If its not consider changing the title to say it is solved because then more people will help.
