I spent the last 4 months making an essay video on BeamNG, as a sort of "beginners guide." I may have went a bit overboard with the intro, but the camera path and script AI were too fun and interesting to not use.
This needs more attention. This is one of the best videos I have watched for this game and I can see why it took 4 months to create.
Thanks. I actually used your global values mod to get the sound I wanted out of the coronet. It was pretty handy.
That was great man. Really one of the best video essays on this game. I appreciate the beauty shot section, this game is truly beautiful. As you say, it does not compare to Forza or GT, but it's not trying to. That slow motion drag shot really was something special. Also that joke about bumping threads had me laughing.
It was. I wanted 4 cars from each "category" in the intro, I figured an overpowered rusty Barstow fits the "muscle" which isn't complete without a blower sticking out of the hood. The whole beginning sequence is sort of burnout-esque, or at least that's what I was going for.
You definitely succeeded! My favorite part was the PBR showcase --- Post updated --- My thoughts exactly! (I wonder how many posts of mine are just me saying “My thoughts exactly!” lol. Probably a lot)
I love the intro, the beginning reminded me of the trailer for the Crew and then it suddenly went to Driver? Amazing
Wow! Just WOW! That was hands down the best and most entertaining BeamNG video I've ever seen.Seriously. Loved it!
I know this isn't really related to the video essay bit, but I absolutely love the animation part! how did you animate over BeamNG like that? I've spent about a moth trying to figure it out to no avail. Longest intro, but best YT intro I've EVER seen. Hats off to you.
I plugged the footage into an animation program called Krita. You need a plug-in in order to do so, and I can't remember for the life of me what it's called. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to export it to Davinci without a background, so I have to put a sort of green screen to chroma key it out, which causes some issues on the edges. It was my first time ever playing with 2d animation, so I still have a ton to learn. But Im glad you liked it.
Wait a minute your the 'Playing Beam with 0.08 BAC" guy aren't you! I loved that video it was hilarious no wonder I recognized the voice from somewhere
