Hey, i downloaded BeamNG.drive on a low end laptop and i was wondering if there was anyway to improve significantly the performances ? btw i am averaging about 35 fps, quite honorable.
Dynamic reflections off and setting grass density to zero helps a little. Also, have some or most of the checkbox settings unchecked. Also, don’t play on West Coast, as in my experience it experiences some of the lowest framerate of all the maps. Other than that don’t know of any way of improving the framerate without compromising graphics too much.
well i asked for performance. quality is not a "to worry about" thing. --- Post updated --- thank you for your reply, it actually is very detailed !
I have a cheaper pc (I7-6700 processor, 1050TI GC, 32 GB RAM) and I can still run WCU 30-35 fps. I know it’s not perfect but I’m just happy to play BeamNG in general.
ok, select Ultra and watch the pc die You don't have the worst. I have a GT 1030, i5-4590, 16GB DDR3 memory. And West Coast runs even better.
what pc specs? --- Post updated --- you could set it to low/medium or lowest depending on how good it runs then set the shadows to high since that makes the game so better. then if your laptop screen is small i would turn off anti aliasing and maybe even anisotropic filtering. since i dont really mind the aliasing i have it set to low so i can get better performance. then if your pc is really low end turn of dynamic reflections, otherwise set everything to the lowest it can go (just so the enviroment sort of affects the car)
select extreme and turn your pc into a bomb try to find the perfect settings to balance graphics and perf
FPS is also quite map dependent. Gridmap V2 and Hirochi Raceway are easier to run compared to big maps such as Italy and WCUSA

1) optimization of Windows + I advise you to use 10 21h2; 2) correct settings of the nvidia control panel; 3) setting up the processor in the ThrottleStop program; 4) overclock the video card + set the power supply to high performance. 1 - 2 is a base for any PC, not only a weak one, but on a weak one you will feel it much more + all this can be done for free, and also some changes on the cards themselves in the beam (this is more complicated) 3 - 4 in conjunction with 1 - 2 will give better growth.
