I was wondering if we could have access to the source code, if yes would it be possible to make soft-body engine in unity 4?
If we are not allowed to access the source code, could we pay for it? (like for license to use it).

If you don't circumvent their rights you should be ok. Don't profit from their stuff without their permission, don't dispense copies freely so others don't have to pay, obey the terms of their license should they give you one. That kind of thing.

I doubt the source code will ever be available to just anyone, even for purchase. It would have to be a known company with a high reputation im sure, just simply to assure that the engine will be used in a way that shows off the companies hard work and doesnt do anything to make them look bad.

Not to mention the price the licensing would probably be far to high for any one person to purchase.

If they do ever decide to release the source code (for free i mean), i would probably be as Hati said, for non commercial use only.

Being a unity developer myself, i wouldnt mind being able to mess around with it in unity either :) Although honestly it would probably be far easier to just mess with it in CryEngine instead. As long as you code in C# in unity then the transfer over to C++ which CryEngine uses shouldnt be a big deal at all.

i remember reading in one of the threads that they hope to see this used in indie games so i would guess that you would be able to access the source code for free/reasonable price.

If you're serious about this, email them at info@beamng.com

Id like to point out though that if you're brand new to coding, chances are you're not going to have a good time trying to work with something as advanced as beamNG. Especially something like trying to integrate it into an entirely different game engine.

Would be great if this was implemented into GTA or something alongside Euphoria's Ragdoll Physics engine. :)
The most realistic GTA yet! Why don't some game manufacturers looking for realistic vehicle (or other types of physics) physics pay more attention to this?

EDIT: Sorry went a bit off-topic.
Hopefully licensing will be available for hobbyists too. :D
