hey, do you have any plans to release a native mac version? i am currently playing with a steam wrapper for wine, which works not bad, but a native version would still be preferred . thanks!
hey, do you have any plans to use the search button? There are threads on this, but of course reading those would be preferred . thanks!
hey, millions of threads on this already just be patient wait 2 years and mac version will be released
neither "mac os x", "mac" nor "osx" did return any search result. so ... either i am the first one asking this, or something is wrong with the search in this forum ... and thats not my fault. - - - Updated - - - i am ok with the wine wrapper the next n years ...
Hmm, odd, there were at least 10 threads *BY THE SAME FUCKING GUY* and I also mentioned macs (unrelated to BeamNG) in offtopic so that should have been bought up. However. the 2nd result for a google search of "site:beamng.com mac" brings up the FAQ on the beamNG wiki. 3rd FAQ. http://wiki.beamng.com/BeamNG_FAQ#Are_you_planning_to_include_Mac_support.3F It is also listed in the requirements that its a windows only game, I would have assumed you checked that before purchasing. Seeming as actual search is obviously borked heres the reasoning. BeamNG uses the Torque3d game engine. They can only support the platforms Torque3d supports. Currently Torque3d only supports windows. Torque3d is currently being ported to 64 bit windows and linux. Mac porting of Torque3d isnt planned until after that and then BeamNG can't port to mac until after that.
thanks very much for the detailed answer. i checked the downloadable demo with the wine wrapper before purchasing and as this worked, i thought i am ok with it ... it isn't expensive anyway. but you are right, i could have checked the FAQ regarding mac support first ... so sorry for another thread regarding this.
Guys, lets not be that unfriendly to new users. It leaves a really bad first impression and bad feeling about the community :| Just refer to answer the question kindly instead of shouting to the poor new user We all were new users at some point and asked dumb questions. And yes, MAC-OS is thought of - no promises or timeline yet.
