I notice that in the repository itself, you can filter the search by file size, but in the mods section of the forums, (pick whichever type of mod you want as a given example); they only have... "Last Update", "Submission Date", "Rating", "Downloads", and "Title"; as tabs.
Would be nice if we could sort by file size here as well.

    Thanks, B3Burner

Doesn't seem all that useful, to be honest...

Okay, point well taken. I was just thinking that if one is questioning the power of their computer, and the ability of some of these maps to load, a descending file size filter might be helpful in determining which ones a person might try first before others.
It's certainly not something that one can't live without... I was thinking just another possible inclusion, if it isn't too difficult to incorporate.

    Mh, ok...

But when it comes to maps, file size isn't the only factor.

Ok, got ya'. And that is not something I've considered before. Case in point, West Coast, USA is 1,080 mb, and my old computer ran it fine. American Road is 447.7 mb, and my old comp couldn't load it.
I'd be interested to know what the other factors are beside just straight file size?

Surficial extension of the map, prop variety & density, texture size... Sure, these all go hand in hand with file size in the end but, as you could see yourself, a "smaller" map file could contain more intensive content.
