A small one, but I think it would make things a bit better

Adding Separate or moving the current Vehicle and Maps folders out of the hidden app data, beamng, drive, (ect ect) folder to a BeamNg Mods folder in documents or somewhere easy.

MANY games do this for mods, addons, game saves, screenshots, ect. The things commonly accessed to a covenant location, It's a nice little change and I believe it would be a big difference.

    Why do you say that?

I can only imagine its a single line of code they'd have to change, which is where the game looks to load cars. It seems silly that they wouldn't make it slightly easier to install mods, on a game that nearly completely relies on mods.

It would make sense for a free game like RoR was, but now the game is changed (no pun intended) with money involved.

APPDATA may be a hidden folder but you don't need admin rights to view it. It would be just as easy to add a button to the main menu which opens the folder for you.

I didn't say anything of the sort

"Adding Separate or moving the current Vehicle and Maps folders out of the hidden app data, "

    .

but yes, that would be nice to, just something a bit more convent to access the folders as they are essentially the most important things in the game. It's these little details that make the game that much better

You know that you can choose where to install BeamNG when you set it up right? If you don't want it in App data just select a different location when you run the installer, I installed it on a second drive for easier access. I much prefer having all of the games data in one folder, instead of being split up across your machine.

Well of course, just like any other program known to windows.

Either way the vehicle folder is still stuck in the game folder, and like I said its not a big deal, but I'd suggest taking hints from Triple A titles, they keep those folders out for a reason.

Fair enough, my suggestion would be to leave it exactly how it is. Having all of the game directories in one location is something I wish all games did. It makes moving the game between computers and backing it up before a re install infinitely easier. Also if you are a modder, there are many other things besides just the vehicles and maps folder's that you need quick access to (the lua, scripts, tools folders just to name a few). I hope the devs do not change this, it would only confuse more people on where they need to install mods, and make the modding experience slightly more annoying.

Microsoft Windows comes with an abundance of highly complicated features that you may be unaware of, let me explain:

    1. Right click 'Beamng.Drive' shortcut on desktop, select *Open file location*

    2. Back out one folder, Right click the folder called "BeamNG.drive-0.3"

    3. Select *create shortcut*

    4. Place shortcut on desktop. Oh look, now it's right there

    5. Place your head in microwave and select *popcorn*

    6. Serve with butter

You can install it like you want and hold the folder outside Appdata, no problem.

Im not sure if people see my point...........

Im not asking for a tutorial on how to fix it, as it's very simple and there's many ways of doing it and Ive already done it long before I posted this thread, nor making a big deal, Im just giving a nice simple suggestion that would be an easy change, that would make a nice little difference.

Every little detail helps, if it's an easy fix for them to do, might as well do it right?
