@Driv3r1142 I didn't even know you were making this... i love you. And thanks for thinking of me when you wanted sounds for this machine, i'm flattered. PM me so we talk better. #RotaryPower
I'll send a PM later When finish. Thanks Today and yesterday has been spent working on the front suspension JBeam and doing alignments for my 2 current configs, Stock, and Street/Track. Biggest issue I'm running into is excessive under-steer and washout in the Street/Track config... It bites in, however it doesn't hold it. I'm currently reading through some general alignment troubleshooting stuff trying to make it better. My biggest frustration with this car has been the suspension. I just can't seem to find any references for it. I know it's a double wishbone independent front and DeDion tube rear, however I don't have a clue for the suspension geometry. So I've had to guess and engineer my own. Also... If anyone has a decent resolution blueprint or a factory drawing of the original stock suspension itself, front or rear that they can share with me, I would greatly appreciate it. I've spent hundreds of hours on this project searching for something among those lines and haven't found anything, and I'm not satisfied with my work because While what I have currently is decent and usable IMO, I'm not confident that I'm staying true to the original car, something that matters a lot to me.
Here are some period Mazda color charts although I'm pretty sure not all of them apply to the Cosmo. https://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colour_swatch_mazda_1970
With each mod you make, you've been getting better and better! Keep up the excellent work my friend! You've grown in your work and it shows. The Cosmo is amazing.
I've been to that website several times, somehow I missed that. Thank you though, that will make coloring this slightly easier. I also found this while searching earlier; I've seen a Cosmo in atleast one of each of these colors, seems to me this is almost spot-on. Unfortunately, No. Wrong car, and wrong perspective. I already have that kind of view here in the parts catalog I found; Thanks for trying though
I haven't seen a blue one yet, and there's only a single green one to be found but I don't think that's original.
This looks really great, I can't wait to drive this in a game other than Forza Horizon 3. (P.S. @Stoat Muldoon congrats on being a staff member!)
Not sure how helpful this will be if you havent already seen it. Lot of pretty underbody pictures.... https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-mazda-cosmo/
That was one of my references for doing this project, along with some other auction listings and a couple restoration blogs, and a few sources here and there. Again the vehicle modeling is complete, I'm working on fine tuning the JBeam. Part of that is fixing the suspension to my liking and getting it to be closer to the real car.
we have a mazda 2 and i really like mazda but this old cosmo should get atleast "Staff Pick" and my post here xD
