Ive been working on someones mod for a few months now and ive finally got around to uv wrapping/unwrapping the model in blender, watched a few tutorials and i got the hang of it, but when i started uv wrapping a few individual parts they would always wrap something else as well and visa versa. I dont know why its doing that but (atleast i think) i need to do that before i start texturing and stuff. Any help would be appreciated
I think you should first unwrap everything in a way that nothing is clipping or overlaying on top of something else, and I've heard that it's a really painful and time-consuming process to unwrap UVs of a car, maybe someone with experience can help
The project “vehicle” is about 25 times bigger than a covet, oh god. Ill have a look around for someone with experience and see if they can help
By bigger you mean more high poly or larger in size? You could maybe use several materials with separate textures instead of 1 big one
I mean in size (cubed size) how would that work? The textures im using all origanate from google as a placeholder. Does it depend on how many details or colour or something?
What exactly are you making? It doesn't really depend on anything but if you want everything on 1 texture then it will have to be a big one with high resolution to look detailed, so you can use several smaller ones instead
Well, its a plane, that’s pretty much all i can say at the moment. Also the one im going to make is just going to be temporary, i just wanna get a skin/texture ingame for now. Its also only going to be 2 colours (yellow wings and silver body) Im clueless on this tbh lol
If it's a plane then you could make the wings have a separate texture than the main body, idk, ask other people who made plane mods how they did it
This is were the issue comes in, if i put a texture on the wings like 5 other parts that arnet even part of the wing get textured. Its weird
That means that your UVs have overlaying parts and aren't unwrapped properly, try adding a separate material only for the wings
Wow your smart lol, Ill see if that works --- Post updated --- Oh, just found out why its doing it, Parts of objects uv’s are in other uv’s if that makes sence. Now ive got to separate all the damn uv’s. :/
