Updates usually resets my custom keybindings

Hey guys.
i'd like to know where the keybindings file is located? It's getting closer to the next beamng update and i remember that everytime beamng updates, all my settings gets reset, so i'm going to be prepared this time and do backups of all my settings so i don't have to redo all of them everytime. now where can i find these files?

And is there a way to save/backup custom car configurations? i don't really mind rebuilding all my drift cars (it's kinda fun lol). But making backups of those would be nice to!

If you go into your BeamNG userfolder directory in AppData (C:\Users\YoirNameAppData\Local\BeamNG.drive) or wherever you have it, and then go to vehicles, there should be folders, and each of those folders is a car in game, and in those folders, are custom configs you make, in .pc and .jpg format

 

Ohhh i see, thanks man, what about the keybinding file? i think that one's the most important to me, and the most annoying to set up after every update hahahah

 

I am not sure about that, but I think there was a keyboard bindings in the settings folder, or a inputmaps folder or something like that in the userfolder. I can have a look later if you want

 

OK, I had a look and I THINK found the location for the keybinds. Go to your BeamNG userfolder, then to the "settings" folder, and then the "inputmaps" folder. It should look like this:

\BeamNG.drive\0.27\settings\inputmaps

Then find your input maps. I have a keyboard and a G923, and it allows me to backup both of them. The keyboard input map is probably called "keyboard.diff" and my G923 one is called some random characters, probably an ID. The picture below shows what I think they're meant to look like


The subfolders in this folder are custom vehicle specific keybinds I think. As I do alot of bus driving in BeamNG with the DT40L and the Capsule, I set some keybinds on my wheel for the features I need (Doors, Kneel, ect) and it saved them in its own vehicle folder.

Just drag these to your desktop or any other folder to back them up, and then replace them with the new BeamNG update.

I may be wrong here, I'm not sure, but I THINK I found it, dont take my word for 100%. I hope I could help anyway
