Oh wait, that's fanart? I was under the impression that it was official.
No, we aren't. We are telling some random dude who made a quick fan art sketch of a car that we have only seen the rear-end of in a digital drawing so far that the proportions in his drawing are "all wrong," how the roof is "too thick," and how the doors are "too short and stubby".
It is just a thing @esesel made of what he thought the car would look like. He isn't on the dev team, unfortunately. I think that he would make for a great vehicle concept artist, though!
I apologize if I came off like that, I was just trying to explain to esesel what mcbeamer meant by his post, I didn't mean for it to come off as rude or criticizing esesel's artistic abilities, and I don't think mcbeamer meant that either
although you are correct, we should return to at the very least more game related speculation
I'm sorry, I thought you were the one who said it looked bad. My bad. Anyway, you're right, let's get back to update speculation. We can all agree that this car is not coming in 0.25, right? If I had a guess it would probably come out in 0.27 if all goes well and the car is made in beamng. When does everyone else think the car will come out? Also, slightly different speculation, but what do y'all think they are going to do when 0.30 rolls around? Will they number it like I just did, or will they keep it, because 0.30 simplifies to 0.3 (the original release of the game).
Nah, 0.27 is a little late I think. My guess would be 0.26 or between 0.26 and 0.27. As for 0.30, I would hope that career mode would be out by then. In a presentation video in summer 2021, I believe they said that career mode was 2 years off. (Please correct me if I am wrong about this)
Build numbers in software development don't work like regular numbers; 0.30 isn't the same as 0.3. The point isn't a decimal place, rather it's a way of denoting version levels.
what the fck is going on here, that guy just made some fanart bruh.
Now to actual speculation, what content do you guys think the upcoming Civetta will have?
big engine that goes brrrrrrrrr
im sorry domt kill me ples
Likely race, tuner and hotlap/trackday configs, maybe an Italian police config
i'm thinking if this thing is getting some GT3-esque config, it's possible that the SBR might be also getting its "S2R" trims with the adaptive suspension (and maybe an F6 engine?).
Imo it will probably have a v12.
If it is N/A it will probably have a 1500hp+ twin turbo conversion.
i'm thinking it's more likely to be a huracan/f8 equivalent rather than some V12 hypercar, as such a thing would have a lot more use cases, and wouldn't be pushing the physics engine so hard with massive power levels and a super-advanced carbon fibre chassis.
i'm thinking they might give it options of a V8 and V10, similar to what the 1st gen audi R8 had.
I really want the new Civetta model to have a V10 or a V12 because BeamNG features no such engines yet and because ok, we already have the 3.2 Twin-Turbo V8 in the Bolide. Yes, the 3.2 TT V8 in question is about 40 years old and there could certainly be a modern successor to it in this new Civetta model but the mere fact that it exists is enough on its own.
There's another alternative as well, which is the successor of the 3.2 TT V8 appear in a smaller Civetta model.
im guessing we'll have a V6(?) for low trims (maybe with TT), a TT V8, and a V10, maybe a V12 for insanity's sake
Yeah V10 and V12 will be cool
Mid engine V8 to V12, most likely a 4-6L V10 or v8 specifically.
Carbon Fiber or aluminum monocoque chassis.
Double wishbone front and rear suspension, perhaps with Pushrod front suspension.
high revving N/a motor with probably a ~8,000-9,000 redline, and a twin turbo setup for the highest trim levels, probably with a bit lower redline for the turbo cars.
Carbon fiber or aluminum body panels.
Active rear wing and front splitter, with -crossing my fingers- active diffuser and intake flaps to direct air over and around the car for lower drag (or higher downforce for cornering and braking) and better cooling.
RWD setup on the lowest trim level with AWD on almost every other trim level.
Perhaps a Targa top version? (Spyder?)
A ton of trim levels and editions that get increasingly more absurd, ala Lamborghinis SVJ, STO, SC20, LP700-4, etc, featuring over the top -but functional- aero bits, weights reduction, power increases, liveries, bodywork and interior trim.
Digital gauge cluster.
Dubai police config
I guess it will have a racing configuration and an insane twin turbo version. I think it will also have a very extreme street-legal version (like the Ferrari 488 Pista and the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ).
A TT V6 would indeed be nice but I don't think it's the very first engine many people think of when they hear the word "Supercar". Traditionally, most of us think of V10s, V12s or, at least, V8s!
Yeah, there's the Skyline R35 and the NSXs (and the Dino 296GT) but they're just some exceptions to the rule.
