hmmm, it sound's like the gpu is having trouble deciding weather to run beamng in 3d clocks or 2d clocks, so it keeps starting to run in 3d, then switches back, and continues like that. you might try forcing it into 3d mode

Can you do another pic like that showing GPU clocks?

Yep, same settings and stuff as before.

Can somebody with a similar GPU or CPU do a usage comparison on the grid map with the D15 the same as what I did

Ok, so after some more testing on different maps and so on I get around 9-19 FPS on every map even with physics disabled and graphics settings at low or high. I've also tried GPU overclocking and so on but it has no real change to the performance. My temperatures are really very good and all the components that I've tested (GPU, CPU, RAM) have passed flawlessly.

I've also noticed that the lag is not only from low FPS but rather from frame skipping. This is more noticeable when moving around a vehicle or driving at a high speed it will slow down for maybe 1-2 seconds and then run steady for a moment and then another skip.

I'm really not sure what could be causing this problem. I know people with similar systems to mine can run the game perfectly, while others have similar problems to me. This is quite a frustrating issue though as it is difficult to know if this is due to hardware problems or not.

It seems to be an AMD problem with cores not loading properly. The only guesses I have are to wait for the race update and update the mobo BIOS if you haven't.

Hmm I may have too and yeah my BIOS is already up to date. Thanks for the suggestion though :

Well when i started BeamNG just now it loaded up and ran at a solid 65fps for about 20 seconds then fell down to 9-19 again

That's the weirdest thing. I've noticed BNG loading/running slower when I have a huge selection of cars in my folder, so it might be a ram thing. It just sounds so much like overheating.... Are the mobo temps in range? Is the wattage in range of the mobo output? I'm kinda grabbing at straws.

Well I've got 8GB of RAM and all of them passed the memtest I ran a couple of weeks ago. The mobo temps should be decent considering its very well ventilated however ill check that when I get home.

you might try setting your 2d clocks to the same as your 3d clocks, if it is what i believe it looks like (it trying to decide weather to be in 2d or 3d mode) then this should fix fps, however, it won't explain why the gpu is deciding that beamng is a 2d application

Sorry for the late reply but I've been away all weekend.

After testing the mobo everything seems to be in order with the temperatures at 30c-40c the voltage is also where it should be.

I also tested this same situation on very low settings with a dual core i5 laptop with an integrated GPU and it got a smooth 45-50fps were as i get about 19fps at the same time

I used to get unstable fps with my old core 2 quad where i would get 20-25 fps no matter what, and my theory is that BeamNG just dislikes old hardware fair and simple.

I agree. My 870 isn't getting any beamng love. I haven't played in forever (like January) because I can't keep the frames above the 30s even with one car. That's why I'm so impatient for the race update.

Hmm ok, I'll see how things go with the race update. Its probably a mix of T3D and Beam engine optimization problems but yes its an alpha so it'll be fixed in time :)

Ok, so a few days ago I discovered that this may be a GPU related issue. It was quite hard to diagnose but I'm going to return it under warranty and I'll report back when I get it done and see if there is a good difference :)
