I'm trying to fix up a remastered version of the soliad fieri, and i have no idea how to make the metallic, roughness, clear coat, etc values change when you mess with them in the paint selector
This guide is pretty helpful. I'm not at my computer right now so my answer here won't be all nice and detailed with pictures, but I'm pretty sure I remember the gist. Checking the "Instance Basecolor" button or whatever isn't enough anymore. First, make a 2nd material layer on the material you want to be colored, the rest of this guide will be focused on this layer. Then, under the advanced drop down you need a colorPalette map, there are blank red, green, and blue ones in the common folder if you want one for testing. Now, turn the sliders under the metallic, roughness, and clear coat maps up to 1. If anything I said is confusing, you can look at a vanilla vehicle's body material and check the 2nd layer to see how it works. Now, hopefully, it should be colorable and the sliders should be working. You might have to save the material and restart your game for it to work though, sometimes the material editor is weird.
