   How can I make trees use an LOD instead of just fading away?

   Depends on the mesh itself and if it's set up to use LODS ( https://wiki.beamng.com/Creating_static_objects#LOD_meshes )
   All of the trees in the official maps should be using lods.

   The problem is, Im using official trees. Maybe I just have some old files, I'll try copying new ones into the folder.
