Hi ! I'm the creator of the firetrucks, and some lightbars like the Vector. I'm on a new project, a working traffic light prop ! It's going to have different modes (steady green/yellow/red, cycle 1, cycle 2 and blinking yellow). There's also different styles of traffic lights, US one, French one, UK one,... Here some pictures : French : US : UK :
Yes, everything can fall! https://www.reddit.com/r/BeamNG/com.../?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
This is looking good! A few questions, do you think you could make one with a extra long horizontal arm, for intersections with many lanes? Kinda like this Also, will AI traffic obey the signals?
I don't think that's possible to implement, unless it would be possible to make the AI think the light is a car in front of them when the light is red and not when it's green, no idea how this could be done because idk how the AI even detects other cars
It's not possible for the long version, everything is already done, and there's so much diversity in the traffic lights that I can't do everything. For the AI, it's impossible too. --- Post updated --- Yeah ^^
I do have an idea though, so, you know how the AI stops when there is an obstacle (like a car) in front of it? Maybe you can add like 2 nodes that go downwards via hydros, that span a large triangle downwards. I don’t know how exactly the AI detects cars in front of it, but I just had this little thought about this lol The nodes and triangles should be noncolliding though, so you don’t actually create a sort of „invisible wall“ that can damage the traffic light when it is driven through
I mean, I guess it‘s worth a try? Placing fixed nodes would be good to test wether my idea would actually work
Well idk how to make hydros, and this project is starting to demotivate me as it drags on, but nothing prevents you from modifying my mod once it's released.
I believe the AI works off of ref nodes, rather than dynamically like you guys are suggesting. and in the case of this light, the ref nodes are at the base.
