*Updated 25.2.15* This is a Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 from 1975. It´s basically same car as the FJ40 but this has 3Litre diesel engine and 24volt system. 4-speed manual gearbox and 2H, 4H, 4L transferbox with open diffs. Original PTO-winch as it was standard in Finland. Removable doors and hardtop with fold down windshield. ----------------------------------------- Title says it all. I put the Sisu truck on hold and started a far more interesting vehicle. The good old Cruiser! I´m trying to do this as accurate as possible. Using real dimensions. And I sure do have alot of reference pictures. - - - Updated - - - Update..small.. and comparing in game.
Re: Toyota land Cruiser BJ40 Oh I hate modeling engines and such... I never seem to get them accurate. - - - Updated - - - Sketching out the engine parts. Wow this is hard
Re: Toyota land Cruiser BJ40 Found better dimensions of the radiator so I made some adjustments. Also tweaked the support and fan shroud(still not accurate). And may I present you a Toyota split-rim style rim. Still missing the actual split-rim part. EDIT: Pfff... the rim was all wrong. Here´s the fixed one. Looks more like a Toyota rim.
Re: Toyota land Cruiser BJ40 Wow so hard to model realistic axles. Not 100% accurate but will do for now...
Re: Toyota land Cruiser BJ40 Nice work so far. Are you using custom Jbeam or is it based on the D-15?
UPDATE Modeled: Spring hangars, u-bolts Shock absorders Drivesafts and u-joints Handbrake drum + small adjustments
Hey, I remember you! I'm the guy who did the 3d mesh for the FJ for RoR, this is looking great! I thought you used Max, did you switch? The driveshafts look a little small, other then that Keep up the good work
Hi and thanks! I switched to Blender few years ago. Good point! The driveshafts looks too think even from my opinion.. dunno why because the u-joint..flanges? are made from right dimensions. I´m gonna search for real measurements. EDIT: Noticed my rear pinion angle is way too extreme...
Re: UPDATE Thanks you! Umm if I remember correctly this must be my 6th try from scratch up, haha! This time I´m so far that it must be completed.
Tadaa! A proof it´s in game so my topic is legit! Jbeam in game. Got it not to explode by finding random beam settings from hatch.jbeam Then I realized that I dont know how to add axles and wheels, steering etc. I also noticed that beams need different "deform" settings depending how weak it is in real car.. so I got depressed... (imported from here) Seems like I have too many beams compared to Gabes pickup frame. Here´s my question: (see pic)
Using those crossbeams in the middle would indeed increase the strength of the box, as well as give increased strength to the JBeam overall.
