tires dont pop when doing a burnout

What you mean is tire wear and tire temp should be simulated.

Would be could though. Drift sessions could be come a battle of attrition, rock crawling would require careful path choice - stake a tyre and your done, burnouts would be even more fun.

One tyre burnouts with an open centre differential = 1 dead tyre.

Actually I feel like tyre wear and heat could actually make drifting easier, my only concern is that it would possibly require more durable tyres for drifting and if I had to use drift tyres they would probably be more slippery than I like for drifting.
