So I decided to tackle making tie-down straps for use in strapping vehicles (or anything) onto trailers and flatbed trucks. I started with the 22' tilt deck for no real reason. Current progress: I have Straps set as an option under Load. by default it will spawn 4 straps, but straps can be added or removed from 1-8. Straps spawn in loose on the bed of the trailer. You can node grab one end and couple it to the trailer, and node grab the other end and couple it to your vehicle. I currently have variables in to adjust spring, damp, and strength while I'm trying to figure out the best range. Items to do: -Fix some mesh body placements on some of the extra straps. Edit - Most are fixed. -Figure out why the straps sometimes explode when connecting an end to the trailer. -Find a range of ideal spring, damp, and strength values and adjust it so that the tuning sliders stay within that range. -Copy and modify the jbeam to work with every variant of trailer/flatbed. Edit - Should be available on all trailers, the d series, and the h-series rollback. -Work on the flexbody/texture. End goal: The plan is that you can spawn any trailer or flatbed, add the straps, and connect a vehicle or prop to the trailer or flatbed by node coupling. The benefits of this over just coupling the wheel to the trailer/flatbed are the ability to attach to different points, ability to have the straps break (either a single strap or all of them), ability to have the load move or bounce if not tied down properly, and to look better than having the load magically glued to the trailer/flatbed. I did consider having the straps spawn with one end attached to the trailer already, but decided to switch to the loose straps for a few reasons: placement of load or availabiliy of suitable tiedown nodes on the load may not match where I decide to have the straps spawn in, and honestly having them spawn loose will be simpler for copying to other trailers/trucks as I won't need to decide which existing nodes are the best and add those beams. If you have any ideas to add, let me know. If you want to help with this, let me know. I'm always willing to work with other modders and share the credit. Hello, your mod is very cool and has no analogues. Here's an idea, maybe it would be worth adding a "selection of initial standard fixation" for one end of all straps, for example, to the trailer and its edges of the platform, similar to how a mannequin's butt is fixed to the seat, I think this will greatly reduce the time of attaching the car to a trailer or tow truck
That was my original idea. I opted to do the current way, at least as the first iteration, as it has more flexibility. Also because it was a lot less work not having to find and connect to every useful node. Definitely something I'm looking into for future updates, though.

THIS IS THE BEST MOD IN BEAMNG haha i love this mod its been too long we needed this! i made a video on it that's how much i love it!
any time i go to grab the straps with ctrl, my entire camera just starts moving to the right and drags the straps along, bashing the trailer and anything with it out of its way. any idea why???
hold ctr, then hold the right mouse button, and then select a point with the left mouse button and use the mouse wheel to lock the points and adjust the strength
Are you using the standalone straps under the vehicle tab, or the straps that can spawn on a truck/trailer? If the standalone straps, try tabbing to the truck or trailer first before trying to attach them. I may need to go in and add some ref nodes which may help. If on a truck or trailer, not sure what could cause that unless some weird strength settings either in the strap settings or for your node grabber. --- Post updated --- Thanks for linking the video. Love seeing people use stuff I make. This is only my third released physical mod (plus one skin), so definitely have a lot to learn and correct. Subscribed and left a comment on your video too.
Yo, so whenever I try this mod in the new 0.32 update it causes me a game crash whenever I node couple the strap to something, the crash says something like stack buffer overrun, can someone please help me with this because if it wasn't for this crash it would be an amazing mod!!
I'm not able to recreate the error on my system which makes it really hard to track down what could be causing the issue. Has anyone else had this issue?
