    Hi,

I just bought and installed the game, and am having problems getting my wheel working.

I have a Thrustmaster TX 458 Italia Force Feedback wheel with the latest firmware installed. The wheel works fine in other games.

However, when the wheel is connected and I go to the controls options, the game just hangs and becomes unresponsive. If I disconnect the wheel, the game becomes responsive again.

This happens whether I do it from in-game (sitting in a car and pausing), or just from the option on the main menu when the game first loads.

Any help/advice will be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

Does it also happen if you open Controls from main menu (not from in-game), and then NOT touching the steering wheel? (i.e. can you then scroll up and down the bindings list without problems, or does it also lag without touching the wheel?)

    Thanks for your reply.

This issue happens from the main menu (before starting the game) and from the Escape/In-game options menu.

Everything is fine until I click the Controls option, then it becomes unresponsive. I do still hear sound if I am in game, so I cannot say if it has frozen or not, but I am unable to click anything and no bindings or other options show up unless I disconnect the wheel.

Somehow yesterday I did manage to play briefly with the wheel, albeit without any force feedback or access to the Controls menu, however, I don't seem able to get it working at all again today, whether I bypass the Controls menu or not.

    My steps in detail:

    1) Turn PC off.
    2) Connect wheel.
    3) Turn PC on.
    4) Wait until loaded and wheel has completed auto-calibration routine.
    5) Start BeamNG

I have tried 2 methods from here:

    1) Immediately go to the Controls menu = unresponsive screen and menu screen does not not show anything other than the top tabs (Key bindings / Force feedback / Hardware).

    2) Select drive at a random place (usually a free roam)
2.1) Notice wheel does not work.
2.2) Press Escape, select Controls option = same unresponsive behaviour as if selecting from the initial menu.

I hope this is clear enough. If there's anything else I can do to help, please let me know.

Here's a link to my PC build if needed (excl. wheel): http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3Gmgcf

edit: please note I do not touch the wheel at any point in this process.

I see. Your PC should be able to perfectly handle the situation.
Can you please send me your mydocuments/beamng.drive/torque3d.log files, and also, if it exists, your mydocuments/beamng.drive/settings/inputmaps folder? Thanks a lot!

Please accept my apologies - this is a driver issue with the wheel and I was impatient with the menus. They do indeed load after a long enough period of time, but I even find this lag occur when trying to access the wheel's properties in the Control Panel.

So, the wheel works - however, there is still no force feedback (I ticked the box).

Ahh well they disabled FFB in the latest update as it was causing problems, so no one has FFB right now. It should return with the latest update.

    I guess that'll be why then :)

    Thanks
