A realistic demolition derby mod built by a real life derby driver.
when will the next update be??
This week. I'm about to move cross country and will release next update before then. Here's another teaser for those of you wondering whats round the corner after the grand marshal....
That looks awesome! The grand marshal needs a wagon!
Hey everyone! I've just submitted the next update and should be live soon. The main focus of this update is a massive overhaul to the Grand Marshal, which should now be built like and act more like a Crown Vic. See my update logs for details. I also gave the Moonhawk some love and buffed the limited weld frame, and it should be significantly tougher now! I've also paired up with BlackFlags Designs to start bringing professionally made roof signs and door graphics to the mod. You can see the first roof sign on the Grand Marshal.
I'm posting this update a little earlier than planned because my wife and I are moving across the country this weekend and I really wanted to get this update out before that happened. Because of this, there are some bugs and other things that need some more love. Here's a brief list of what I know of.
- Cars don't move after tabbing out. (Anyone know what causes this since the last update? )
- some of the new bumpers aren't 100% stable and sometimes explode, especially on very hard hits.
- The Barstows floor and axle completely break if the back is damaged enough. Currently I plan on removing the barstow from the mod (since it's so small) and reintroducing it as the base of an all new real fullsize car.
- The headers textures are still wonky and the Grand Marshals headers don't have exhaust smoke
NoDakSmack updated The Realistic Derby Project - Demolition Derby Mod with a new update entry:
Grand Marshal Update

After the update the suspension is still very bumpy, plus it is very noisy
What track do you drive on?
What are planning to replace the Barstow with?
Current plan is a 4 door New Yorker, but it’s still up in the air. I have a couple new cars in the works until then though
Nice! More derby car variation is great!
Just curious, which generation of New Yorker?
76ish Shocker... my goal now that I have a lot of progress on the cars in game is to introduce an old iron representative for each of GM, mopar, and ford.
Any map, watch the attachment
I will likely completely redo derby leaf springs next patch
Keep the Barstow, its another car to wreck and less work for you lol
I would still love to do some paint skins for ya once you get your cars figured out
And good luck with the move!
This is the most fun I have ever had in a game thanks so much for making this. Been waiting for a realistic derby game all my life! Are the heats still not working 100 percent ? If I get to the main event it sort of freezes and rarely starts. Also do you plan on making it so you can keep one car and damage stays after heat for main event ? Thanks again for the amazing mod!! Maybe this question is for the fairground mod not sure..
Glad to hear youre having fun! Yes, the Derby Fairgrounds scenerio is built by bidwars, not myself, we just work to put our two mods together. He's aware that it isn't working right at the moment and working on a fix AFAIK. Other than the crash, there is currently issues with bringing back cars for a feature but it is in the plans to get pre-ran cars loaded into the feature.
Awesome !! Good to know. Excited about the New Yorker ! Good luck with it all. Hope the move went well !
Great addition to a great mod. I have a question about the custom parts tab. how can I use the vehicle with those custom parts on it? I selected all the options and it wouldn't load a vehicle with the parts, it just loaded the preset vehicles.
I’m not sure I understand, feel free to message me with more detail but all the parts should be selectable in the part selector (ctrl+w) or you can pick one of my RDP presets and change it to how you like. Not all cars have parts, just full-size cars
