1. lower your graphics settings to lowest, and see if that changes anything 2. if not, consider buying a better gpu and adding more ram. around 16 gb is where you'll want to be 3. a high end intel core i7 will also help
I can spawn in 2 cars with the highest settings possible, and still get the same FPS as I would with 2 cars at lowest graphics, and I will consider all of the above, thanks!
You're in the same situation as me. Upgrade the processor, that'll improve the physics performance. Your video card and RAM are fine, just upgrade the processor.
His video card is what is holding his system back. I recommend something decent used, or a new GTX 1050Ti.
Sorry, I really don't know much about computers, but he said that the video settings had no effect on the performance, thus leading me to believe that it was his processor.
no its your CPU holding back physics to test which one is limiting, pause the physics, if the FPS goes up then you are limited by CPU, if the FPS stays the same (between 3fps difference) then you are GPU limited.
I don't know, R3 1100 or what? Most comments I make here in this month are and will continue to be teasalicious fanboy comments about Ryzen processors though, take what I say with a bit of salt.
yeah that will play beamng good, get a good CPU cooler (Hyper 212 evo is a good start) since then you can overclock it. AMD Zen is good, not only for AMD though since Intel will be forced to lower their prices.
What would you recommend as a upgrade? --- Post updated --- Yeah, my CPU is the issue. I need to upgrade that. Thanks though, I never knew that trick!
Its your CPU that is holding you back if you change graphical settings but get the same FPS. Overclocking oddly enough doesn't make any real difference with the Kaveri architecture. Your only real option is going to be to get a new CPU, board, and RAM.
Well, it's become very apparent that my HD 7660D with 728 MB of DDR3 is less of a bottle-neck than my A10-5700 quad-core from 2012. Not sure what I can do because the FM2 socket has an awful upgrade path.
That is what sucks with computers, always need new motherboard, probably new ram, new cpu, that is costing money. Luckily improvements has been so small recent years that there is good number of usable hardware sold used, that might be one path to consider.
