Hi there, My friend and I are making an (buckle up I know the hate) Automation car with working BeamNavigator in the center screen. For now, the screen is related to the headlights to make that ''on'' esthetic. We are both not that experienced in modding and are trying to find a way to find the fixture and add the GPS in it. Here are some pics: Even if its an automation mod, we are confident there is a way to make it work out. Also, we have a discord group made around this project searching for experienced modders compared to our current team. We'd be happy to here some help and feedback on this. thank you.
Hi, You're looking at quite some work to get that done. Fear not, once you get the hang of it things might work out. The fastest way to get yourself going is to put this ↓ ["gps","","Navigation Unit", {"nodeOffset":{"x":0.04,"y":-0.635,"z":0.865}}], in the slot list of the body jbeam file of your mod. Notice the nodeOffset coordinates, you can tweak them to move the gps around. Now, of course you want the screen of your mod to work with it. The gps jbeam file and the gps .dae file are to be found in the "common" folder. You should check out the material name of the original gps screen and name your screen material the same. Also look for the way the original screen is uv mapped and try to map your screen apropiately to the .dds file that the BeamNavigator screen is mapped to. Look for the main.materials file in the common folder and look for "gps". There you will find the path of the .dds file. In Blender select the faces (prolly 2) to be mapped and go to the uv editor. You might have to unwrap and or reset the uv's from the faces from your screen. Press alt + o to open the .dds file and follow the path you found in the materials file. I might have forgotten a detail but I guess this is most of the job. It's tedious and you'll need patience and practice of trial and error. As first mentioned, if you just add the slot to the slots list, at least the gps will popup immediately if I'm correct, then you can proceed from there edit - Oh, one thing I surely forgot to mention above is the object name of your screen in Blender. For it to appear in-game you will have to add your object name to the "flexbodies" section of the body jbeam file, or the dash part, with seperate slot or not. (which you already did of course cause it's already in-game)
