On Hold due to Graphics Card Failure :/ Credit Where It's Due: Original Post: This is a map I am taking my time on, its going to be a long time before its finished but its my very first map i've tried to make for BeamNG so bare with me. If you see me asking for advice on how to do things somewhere, yeah thats how early on this project is. What Swift Islands is, is a couple of islands with a clean precise scenery, and a fun road with little shortcuts here and there that while may be difficult, may provide you with a reward. This is a very early progress map. I will update as much as i can. But I am aiming to build a quality map that you can waste hours on. Re: Swift Islands The hardest part right now is for me to get a smooth road using torque 3d. I wish the smoothing tool was a little better designed. I will be making a main road that you will be able to take a car at speeds about 60-70 and slide sideways on the easy corners. I'm planning on some little speed bumps to slow you down on the rough parts. There will be parts in the road you can take shortcuts that are risky but rewarding. Also how do I add road damage textures to the road. I don't understand how it works yet. I made another road on top of the road with the texture and couldn't get it to show the textures.

Re: #Swift Islands# New Update! 8/20! I was delayed some on the map guys and gals sorry. I was an idiot and never transfered the .forest file over to the main level directory and therefore the game decided to do an update yesterday morning and I lost all my vegetation. Good news is im cutting back on the over dosed vegetation. Just made because there was a lot of things purposely placed and it has taken some time to recover but im about back to where I was. But the bigger section im planning on a little town, a dirt track and a road track in one and some more goodies. I know its a hog on some peoples computers but I like to make the most out of the areas im given

Re: #Swift Islands# New Update! 8/21!! On the green island that comes with the game ( I forgot the name) there is a trail with some very overgrown and disused roads that is great for climbing. Very narrow, steep and bumpy, it's more like a hiking trail or a road that haven't been used in years. I love those trails as a hidden gem.

I kindly named them in progression of their difficulty. Baby Ass - Easy (Closest to the bridge) Slick Hill - Tricky (follow the ditch from Baby Ass and you'll find it where the little pond is. Its marked with cones.) Impossibru - Impossibru (Theres a picture of it on the first post. Its pretty hard, i haven't managed up it but its possible. Maybe with a custom car.) Donut Hill - Easy/Medium (Pretty much the exit of the trail. Its kinda fun to traverse up, im considering making it really hard though) -- Thats just what you will find on the little island.

Trying my best to finish up so i can get the beta out right now ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Private BETA Is released and the 4 people in the Beta test have been sent emails! 1 more space open for a tester! Everyone check your private messages in a little bit the Private Beta is going out! I dont have many options for houses yet so im just going to let yall hate what i have so far. Known Issues: The Spawn, idk how to move it, had people tell me and i followed their instructions and it would JUST NOT MOVE! Beach is very bland. I am planning to fix it up some. Some of the roads aren't the smoothest. Trying my best. Also the little sand area by the bridge on the off road trail side is incomplete. Going to eventually make a little sand road starting there. QUICK FIX I forgot to fix the top of Slick Hill. It got messed up when i was doing some adjustments and i never fixed it. Heres the Adjustments I made. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I plan to add a lot more things to the map like Guard Rails made by: j0pak95 and some more neat additions to make the map much more unique. I know this map probably wont live up to all the hype i've given it but i hope you guys enjoy it!

Re: #Swift Islands# New Update! 8/21!! That is because the ZIP is called something other than Swift Island. I renamed the folder it created to Swift Island and it loaded fine. A few comments: Some of the trees look a little "artificially planted". A little more diversity or irregularity would be great, especially for the ones along the main ring road between the bridges Some grass flickered a bit up in the trails. My game crashed when I entered the water up in the trail. Error message said it couldn't greate a texture or something, I forgot to screenshot it, sorry. I'll make sure to note it if it happens again. Initial thoughs: Great potential! The trails are VERY bumpy. Maybe some regular gravel roads somewhere? I haven't been everywhere yet, but so far it's looking good!
