    hello,

i'm trying to make my first and my second mod,
i've made the first one already and my second one is a new turbo for my favorite car in the game.

i'm totaly new to modding and i'm looking at the engine jbeam file but i have no idea what information i need to copy to make my own turbo,

    thanks in advance

    i will., thanks.
also, i noticed that the stage 3 turbo of the ETKi stays under 20k rpm's.
is there a way to increase the rpm on the turbo?

also, i'm working on a new position for the airfilter of the turbo.
i copied this file out of the zip file of the etki: etki.dae.
how much of the original models do i need to keep to make a mod out of this?

none. as long as you use the right mesh names in the jbeam file you can use whatever models you want

sorry, i'm still confused. i edited the mesh of the turbo and the frame itself, if i understand your answer right and corect me if i'm wrong!

i can just delete all of the other meshes except for the meshes i edited, right?

i'm asking this because i get the entire car with all of its parts except the wheels in blender as i open the .dae file

You will select only parts you want, then export as dae, select box only selection and make sure filename is something new. Also it is best if you also change mesh names to something unique.

Then in .jbeam you will change flexbody name to match mesh name, ones you edited and changed names and will rename part name to something new and you should have your own turbo model and turbo part in game.

and do the files need to be separate or can the models just be in the same file?

ok, i'm now at a stage that i'm confused even more, i broke the etki!
i try to spawn it in, no car. i uploaded the file, maybe we can figure out together what i'm doing wrong.
also, i'm trying to work with multiple dae files

Rename that 2nd vehicles that is inside etki folder to ultra_turbo or something like that.

You are missing one } from end of the file too.

ok fufsgfen, i've done what you said and the mod now shows up, thank you.
when i look under the hood of the etki, there is no turbo.
i made a custom model for the turbo based on the official turbo model but, how do i get the custom model to show up?

Looks like you have set flexbody group to etki_turbo_4 however there are no nodes that are set to that group, change etki_turbo_4 to etki_engine, so that your line reads:
    ["etki_turbo_stage_4", ["etki_engine"],[]{"pos":{"x":0,"y":0,"z":0}}],

If all else is in order, that should make it to show up.
