on real rally and race cars they sometimes take out the interior for weight reduction, because if a car is lighter it goes faster, adding more speed, stuff as leather and useless stuff like air conditioning should be removable in garage and stuff
Yea it should be available for vehicles with racing variants, but it would add a lot of work, the leather inside cars isn't just added on, its part of the chassis mesh and texture. In order to have both leather and stripped inside available, they would first need to redo the inside of the chassis (+ do the texture, normal maps etc), and then add a leather 3D mesh over it. Kind of tedious.
