Strange CPU issue?

    Hi, everyone-

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y510P. I plan on getting rid of this machine very soon, but I have one pressing issue I'd like to get sorted out (mostly out of curiosity) while I still can. Specs:

    Intel i7-4700MQ @ 2.4GHZ
    Nvidia Geforce GT 775M
    8 GB RAM

My issue is this: when playing with a very CPU-intensive vehicle- say the T75- I get around 10 - 11 FPS. I've always figured that this was because of my GPU, but recently I've discovered that it isn't the thing to blame; when I pause physics, it absolutely skyrockets into the 50-60 FPS range. While this would normally be indicative of a bottlenecking CPU, task manager is showing that processor utilization is extremely low (15-20%) no matter what even though I am on the highest power setting.

    Any ideas?

The T75 is an exception, everyone has problems with it and when you pause physics and see how the FPS sky rockets, that means you have a CPU that is too slow and a task that is too demanding, to put it short, your CPU is too slow, BeamNG is a very heavy CPU game, the GPU mainly handles the textures while the CPU handles the actual.. crashing.. part.. one car per core. So the more nodes the car has, the worse the FPS. Doesn't matter if you have 4x 980's, with that CPU your FPS will be the same.

Of course that's what it would mean normally- but then how come my CPU utilization is so low? No matter what it stays under ~25%.

1: It's a laptop. Thermal throttling will be a problem.

If the T75 is using 100% of one core (as that's how vehicles work in this game) the overall usage will be low because there are other cores sitting near idle.

That's because BeamNG currently uses one vehicle per core.

When they get support for one vehicle over multiple cores us 8 core AMD owners will rejoice. (I get like 20-25FPS with a T75, but it doesn't run at full physics speed which renders it unplayable.)
