When I start the game I noticed my power plan changes from balanced to high performance. With my power plan settings, high performance means my cpu will be running at 100% all the time. I know for some of you having your computer power plan set to 'high performance' is what you want but for me it's not necessary. Considering it doesn't change your power plan back after you close the game. I realized this was happening when I saw my cpu and water idle temps were a couple degrees higher than usual. I'm running a i7-6850k @ 4.4. Using RivaTuner Statistics Server for monitoring in-game my cpu usage has never gone above 25% and my gpu 60%. I know you can change the power plan settings but I like having both options. There are times when I want to be running 'high performance' just not for this game and the majority of the time I spend on the computer. It's not a big deal considering I just flip my power plan back to balanced every time I start up the game but it would be nice not to have to do it. I don't mean to come off as complaining because it's not an issue. I'm really just curious if this bothers anyone else because if it doesn't then it's most likely not going to get changed in the future.
The game probably does it so your computer can use it's full performance as on balanced the PC is made slower to make the battery last longer I think
Yeah I agree. I just figured people would already have their computer set up the way they want it and if they have to run high performance for a game that they should know to have it set before they play. Having your settings right is one of the first things you learn as a gamer haha.
That isn't how it works though. A lot of younger people and people who are not "gamers" are attracted to a software like this; it still has to be accessible to that audience. A product has to be designed to be user friendly, having a bunch of options which could easily be replaced by stuff like this is not productive. The vast majority of laptops with this game installed won't appreciate playing the game without high performance enabled anyway.
I understand, I was just curious if there was anyone at all in my position. I'm ignorant when it comes to laptops running games. Though I think just one option in the settings with something along the lines of "Run optimal power plan at start up" would solve it.
For both your windows 10 and windows 7? I'm running windows 10 home and it doesn't change back for me. Maybe there's some settings that changed with an update I'm not aware of I'm not sure. That's interesting though that it changes back for you.
