STEAM SALES!!!

YAAY the time many PC gamers love steam summer sales where everyone can grab a bargain has finally arrived

 

The steam website is overloaded

 

I know just crashed on me haha

 

My Steam keeps crashing too :/

 

I wish it wouldn't crash. I'm trying to pick up that GTA IV for 10 bucks....

 

i dont like that they made the badge a cards thing.

 

You'd think that steam would be prepared for such a large number of users at once, but I guess not.

 

I don't like that too, its childish and stupid. Its like collecting pokemon cards and stuff like that. It doesn't really fit with the purpose of steam.

The purpose of steam is to make money by selling games. No doubt that people have bought games that they otherwise might've missed to get cards to craft badges and level up their profile and receive extra stuff. I'd say that they fit with the purpose of steam. I think its kinda ingenious that they have managed to make steam into some kind of metagame, you can even make money on the market and use that money to buy more games.

 

I guess they had to do something with the cards with people "hyped" about it.
It reminds me of TF2 hats. Most useless and pointless thing ever, dragging in tons of people.

The only thing I actually like about STC is the backgrounds. And I do admit, they are quite awesome, I sold my cards to buy one.

 

It's quite nice catching an idiot who pays $5 for a TF2 crate.

 

I had a guy trade me 1:1 crates for scrap just because he got tons of keys and ran out of crates. lol.

You might want to wait a bit for it, there's an ongoing vote that might lower its price even more, leaving it at 5 bucks if the community votes for it, though it's competing against Portal 2 and Mirror's Edge.

 

I was lucky enough last year to get GTA IV + EFLC for $5, beyond 75% off.

 

I bought Far Cry 3 Deluxe Edition today for 30 euro.

 

Congratulations, GTA IV won the vote.
