I've found in the settings a multi seat mode where you can control 2 cars with the keyboard and a controller. I find it helpful for fixed camera derbies in places not in the scenarios but I think it would be cool if we could have a split-screen or a dual monitor hookup or an HDMI/VGA second screen support option. I've enjoyed playing with my friends and following their cars around maps but if I crash they crash cause they go off camera, and if I'm too slow they go off camera and crash. I edited together a sample photo of my idea and what it maybe could look like. Maybe something like this below could be possible? For uneducated people that never read the text above, that is just an edited photo.
Even though you clearly said it was edited, I still got excited for a second. Anyways, this is difficult to execute because it would have to render everything twice. idk exactly how it works, but it would be really difficult to pull off. We can dream though, can't we?
They could have objects just slightly less detailed and less vegetation. It works fine in Forza Motorsport 6 and the Dirt series.
It was suggested before and answered as well. We need to improve the renderer performance before trying something like this, or you wouldn't get a double digit FPS
So but is there a way I can Set this up myself maybe , so I Mean the splitscreen? I think my computer should handle things like that
In Options in-game go to Gameplay, and you can control 2 cars with a keyboard and a controller recognized as an Xbox input controller. (There are programs to make it recognize PlayStation controllers this way) Now spawn in 2 cars and you can control the 2. This is good for fixed camera stuff, but what I want is to be able to have a split screen. Note to any devs reading- Possibly release a computer test that will see if your computer is capable of rendering everything needed, like rendering 2 different views of a map at the same time. Again, maybe just lowering the graphics in certain areas? Most console games do this as the console is preset to run at a specific speed while on a certain game.
Ok so the reason forza horizon is not split screen is the same reason here: the map is too large and if two people were in completely opposite sides of the map it would have to render it twice. Forza 5 and 6 can do this because the maps are smaller and there are less interactable objects. If beamng drive were to pull this of it would have to turn of dynamic reflections and get rid of all vegetation (like small shrubs that you can drive through and the ones on the grass texture). Also the quality could go down. Earlier today I was talking with my freind and he said that it would be cool if you could connect two computers to the same Internet, like wifi-wifi and/or wired-wired, and play like that.
Games like Wreckfest, Rocket League, and Dirt have large maps, and the reason Forza can run is because, just pause. Now look at the trees. The trees in Forza are all bunched up construction paper, or it looks that way. Dirt has very large maps and can easily run on most devices. Wreckfest also has fairly large maps, and it runs amazing on my PC. Rocket League only because of the grass detail. Games can run like this, we just need small graphics to be removed that are unneccesary. Forza Horizon 2 is not split-screen because it was one of the first next-gen games and they didn't know the power or how to optomize yet.
Yes..! WE NEED Lan and or multi screen support for sure!! I'm building a racing simulator out of a full car shell and well... I need Live camera Feeds from Every window looking out or at least the Front, sides, and rear.. to be FULLY IMMERSED IN THE BEAM WORLD.. in a real car.. Is my goal.. and be able to adjust and lock the in-car veiw cameras In the position required for this feat. Please please please someone make this happen :-D
That's not true at all. The original Forza Horizon on the 360 had no split screen and that was the last Forza on the 360 (I don't count the terrible Horizon 2 port as a 360 game). Forza 5 on the Xbox One which was an incredibly rushed launch title had split screen. Horizon doesn't because of performance issues or it's simply a gameplay decision
