    Hi there,

    Welcome to the forums!

It seems about right, BeamNG.drive doesn't need that much to run. The specs you listed are better than the minimum required for the game.

My only recommendation would be to go with 16 GB RAM instead of 8 GB RAM and to have windows be installed on an SSD. The Kingston A400 is a pretty cheap M.2 SSD. A 1TB HDD for his games and windows on the SSD makes the system much snappier and faster.

Ok yeah I thought the 8GB might be a bit low, I am new to gaming on a pc, my boy loves this game to bits, he been playing it on my laptop but it’s so slow, it’s got a I7 but a poor one, but he still sits there and plays it, laggy as, but I have found one with those specs, but the last thing I want is to set it up for him on Christmas Day only for it not to run properly lol.
    Many thanks for your help

I'd opt the RX 560 over the GT 1030, as the RX 560 is over 50% more powerful and more likely to provide a smooth experience for your son. Intel Core i5-10400 is certainly no slouch. The specs themselves look good! I think your son would be happy. 16GB RAM and RX560 and it's probably about the perfect thing you could give him for christmas. ;)

Ok thanks but the 1030 should be ok shouldn’t it.
I am only paying 250 notes and it comes with a 27in acer gaming screen which are worth 100 notes, 2nd hand. The thing is to upgrade the graphics card I’ll have to upgrade the power supply as well. I new to this pc thing lol didn’t know nothing about them a week ago I know a bit,

these specs are pretty good, as you will be able to spawn multiple cars, (probably upto 8/10)

the GT1030 is good enough if you are playing it on low/medium settings..

i know how it feels to play on a laggy system, (which is currently non working).. and the feeling of 30fps feels absolutely amazing.

Yeah, overall, that sounds pretty good, even for the future if you want to play other games,

It would be better if the graphics card was better, because, a GT1030 is basically known as a display output card, but which can play games (barely) (but waaay better than a GT710) these are the lowest end cards after all.

and as for graphics card brands, Nvidia is more preferable for beamNG currently, since AMD's driver support is a bit meh, and people with the latest cards are getting less performance than a midrange Nvidia card..
so, if you can get your hands on a good second hand GTX1050/ti, or a 1060/70, or, if you can find a (GTX)1650/1660.
RTX cards imo are still way too overpriced.. tbf, so are these..

bsically, in nvidia land: GT- usually the most basic one. reliable, gets the job done, (at less than stellar perfomance)
GTX- the better ones, have much better performance in recording, gaming etc.
RTX series, the fairly newer generation cards.

    :)

AMD's latest drivers fix all the problems with beamng, there's also a morepowertools thing you can do to fix the issue. The problem isn't with the drivers but with beamngs engine, it's so easy to run that the card will go into low power mode while you're gaming, so you'll get stuck at like 100mhz clocks. But this problem is fixed now for the most part. Dynamic relfections is still absolute garbage and eats up half of your frames.

So I would go with the Rx560, its much more powerful than the 1030. Also opt for 12 or 16gb of ram, you can go for 8, but you'll just need to upgrade it to 12 or 16 later down the road.
