Current silly ideas (in hyphens): - When yanking the e-brake in the automatic vehicles, the gear lever has the animation of going to P. The gear itself (in the physics) remains at D, but it does seem a bit odd nonetheless. Thus in the future, will the forced movement to P be removed from the e-brake toggle? (Especially if 'proper' PRNDL is implemented.) - Maybe already planned (or implemented even) but I'll just spill it: will manual gear levers get shifting animations in any of the upcoming updates? Older ideas from 28/9/13: One neat thing with the Moonhawk is the working headlight switch in the dash. However, one other neat thing is what appears to be a hazard light switch below it. - Thus, if it's really a hazard light switch, could it slide when the hazards are toggled? Next, related to the above, some of the previously created vehicles (H-series, Grand Marshall) also have prominent (rotating style) switches for the headlights. While some others have it at the end of the indicator stalk. - So, would it be possible to have them also rotate to the correct position when the lights are turned on? (I had read the 'car consistency' thread over in the public forum and was curious about these 'not quite main' parts of the interiors for older vehicles.) - Also, I figure if the various light switches are buttons or inconspicuous rocker switches, they don't really need to be 'animated'. Though no doubt it'll be better if they were (and requiring more work in the process). That's enough about interiors for now, so just a little more whinging on the way: - Could the Moonhawk be had with side windows? It seems to have them in the .DAE too. Windows are maybe WIP till the next update? - Lastly, relating to 'car consistency', some textures of the radiators of the modern vehicles have cooling fans. Thus, is it planned for actual animated fans (like the Moonhawk or Myth's Caddy) to be added? Or will the fans require too much redesigning of the engine compartment etc?
Re: Some odd, maybe pedantic observations if they could have animated textures, that might be the easiest way to add stuff like the cooling fan (you know, stuff you don't really see much of)
Re: Some odd, maybe pedantic observations Making the cooling fan out of just 2 flat polygons with a texture that rotates means you'll be even less likely to ever see it, because you're usually looking at it from directly above or below(ie you'd only see a thin line from that angle, if you just model it as a flat plane). I'm sure you know this, but all fans(and airplane prop/helicopter rotors) have angled blades since they're meant to move the air in one direction or another. so the cooling fan is probably not a good idea to animate like that Plus they require such a small amount of polygons that there's really no performance-reason not to just model them. I do agree that it would be nice to have animated textures though. Can't exactly think of anything specific, but I'm sure it'll be useful at some point.
Re: Some odd, maybe pedantic, observations and ideas Just updated and cleaned up the OP a little bit. I'd also disclose that I don't want to mention things here that will almost certainly be changed/upgraded anyway like 'better sounds' or 'more cars'. Most of my stuff seem to be queries too.
