Hello everyone. As you might know by now. Shiokarai got banned for uploading inappropriate content to a repo mod. Re:Z_IA made a thread about this called Some Thoughts which is now locked. There are users that have been complaining about the lack of communication between users and staff. Now, I'm pretty sure that everyone on here can agree that the ban was justified. Now, this isn't just about the whole Shiokarai mod thing, but this is about other stuff, too. Users have said that this site is turning into a daycare. There are ratings that have been removed because of users abusing it and the edit time limit thing was taken down to 1 year (I think). @Inn0centJok3r ended up having a problem with this, so she (at least I heard it was a she) ended up making a new thread for an Automation car with a full interior. I have downloaded the mod and it's awesome. Anyways, I think the like rating does a decent job at replacing informative, but I thought that rating was really useful. I'm not saying it has to come back, it's the dev's site. They can do whatever they want with it. Here's something else I wanna discuss. The things I've done on here. Even though I joined this site in 2018. I didn't post or write reviews until November 2019. My first thing on here was a 1-star review of a stolen Gavril D-series Tow Truck mod that didn't even have the actual mod in it. My first post was about an East Coast USA telephone pole issue. My username was Gman White when I wrote this stuff back in November 2019. I ended up writing a bunch of posts on the Update Speculation thread. They were long text wall posts like these, except they sounded like things a kid would write in my opinion. I wrote a post about how I thought the Hopper Crawler was the only car coming in the 0.18 update. Somebody I really like on here wrote a very amusing post responding to me about it. It's funny how he refers to me as man. Anyways, some time later. I changed my username to GWMan. I ended up writing stuff like "Thanks for the information =D" and Okay then :/". I honestly regret writing this stuff. I was also known for calling out users that asked for release dates of mods. I actually wrote a thread about this a while ago. I do honestly regret a lot of my posts, especially my older ones. I ended up writing a long response post to SuperAusten64 about how Srockzz gave me valid criticism. This was his response. This was honestly a really good response in my opinion. I will talk about SuperAusten64. He responded to my old Update Speculation Thread posts back when my username was Gman White. However, he ended up being nicer to me when he found out I had autism. He responded to a user on Update Speculation Thread and General Car Discussion calling me and he said I had autism. He also wrote this wonderful thing on General Discussion. Yes, he was basically talking to me about how I was too hard on myself. I can be quite hard on myself sometimes. I wrote a lot pointless threads in General Off-Topic. The worst of them were the copyright threads. Here's a fun fact about me, RobloxFan2 was actually the first user to follow me. Me and appesh1 ended up chatting on General Discussion a lot. Then, I changed my username to Grind86. When I was Grind86. This is the username I've tagged Srockzz the most under. Here's another one of his responses. A very cool post in my opinion. Sadly, I ended up overtagging him further down the road and he ended up saying this to me. Yeah. Anyways, CaffeinatedPixels called me out for writing long users ranting about a YouTuber called Improvement Pill. I ended up asking for advice on how to improve later and he told me to take a break. Here's the quote. Yeah. Anyways, MrAnnoyingDude and Addicti0nToB00st called me out on my long college posts in the thread General Discussion before the whole Pixels thing, but I ended up taking a 2-day break from this forum kinda recently. I ended up making a thread about the "You must wait at least this number of second before posting this on the site". Shiokarai called me out for it. She said I shouldn't be typing so quickly and she said most of my posts lack contribution. People on the unofficial BeamNG server also called me a simp. I also had 2 pms on here calling me a simp. I've said before what simp means, so I won't repeat myself again. Yesterday, a guy called me out for overtagging Srockzz. This was the quote. This was from General Discussion. Anyways, I think we should all try our best to do better on this site and other sites. Especially, me. Honestly, I'm grateful I have 40 followers. I would love to hear some feedback on this. Love you all. EDIT: I'm happy this managed to get 5 likes. EDIT #2: 9 Likes, wow. I'm proud of y'all. EDIT #3: Woo hoo. 10 likes, y'all. EDIT #4: Wow, 11+ likes. EDIT #5: Oh yeah. I will say this. I've also been known for writing Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos poking fun at myself for tagging Srockzz. I'm pretty y'all already know this.
Over-tagging people can be annoying indeed, especially on Discord if they have mobile notifications enabled. I think it's better to use them with caution. If somebody is being rude to you on the forum or other official channels, and/or you feel uncomfortable with somebody's post directed to you, report and we will review it This quote is indeed very nice and I agree with. Same as above, if anybody makes you feel uncomfortable because of whatever condition (honestly not sure if that's the right term to refer to, so apologizes if it's not), please report to us as well.
Yeah, I've overtagged people on the BeamNG forums. Thanks for not locking this, yet. Thank you. Again, thanks. I don't know if autism is necessary a condition, but yeah. I liked that SuperAusten64 post, too. I do feel like I should do better, though. Autism is not an excuse for being bad.
this post made my heart feel warm it made me feel very hopeful about the future of this forum it also made me realize that there are many good people here that are willing to help others
I can relate to Grind86 too in the fact I have autism too. People, in my opinion, just need to respect people who have autism and know they don't react in the same way as other people. They see the world differently, and can have a harder time with change. That's just my two cents on the issue.
Thanks, man. I think Nadeox1 is probably the best example of a good person willing to help others. You think I'm an example of that, too? If so, then great. I think I should definitely listen to constructive criticism, but thank you for your kind words, man. People with autism can see things differently then others. EDIT: I'm glad MrCin liked this.
Change is definitely a hard thing to acclimate to, especially if you have been doing a thing for quite a long time, so autistic people aren't the only ones struggling. I am autistic myself, but I somewhat embrace change; it helps us move forward instead of being stuck in our past ways
Huh, I didn't even know you were autistic. I mean, at least 50% of the users on this forum know I have autism. I think change and evolving is a good thing. I don't wanna be stuck in the past.
I think it was to talk about me and share some things about me. I might explain more tomorrow. We'll see. Anyways, goodnight.
Awesome post! I am glad that some people do say kind things to make others feel better on the forums.
Yeah, unfortunately. I've done some crap and even admitting what I did is gonna make TheAdmiester get me. I'm not tagging him for the sake of him not getting me. Besides, he'll call me out for it anyways.
He is right though. Tagging someone many times becomes annoying after a short while and nobody really likes it.
Good point, although I've been trying other things like just mentioning the user and not tagging them, along with quoting their posts. In my opinion, it doesn't take a lot to get TheAdmiester mad.
