I saw a forum thread addressing the same issue, but the thread was a month old so I decided to just start a new thread.

I am sure you can see the problem, I want to make a runway. yet when I attempt to land, I can't see the runway until I am about 3 feet above it.
The original thread I looked at was this one:
    https://www.beamng.com/threads/decal-road-fade-out-distance-not-working-not-writing-to-file.60834/
The creator of the thread found a way to fix it, yet I could not find a mission group folder on the template map which is where I am working. Tried adding one manually but it did not do anything. He said he would work on finding stuff out and report it (correct me on that if I am wrong), but is there something I can do so in the meantime while that is hopefully being resolved, so this does not happen? or I can at least see the road from a far distance.

while I already have a thread open. is there a way to fade a road out, so it is not an abrupt stop?

so it fades out into the gravel.
saw a thread on this too, but it was over 2 years old so it is not really relevant anymore.

Are you asking how to make it fade while you are close? You just adjust fade in/out

That shows 15 meter fade in, and 0 meter fade out. Make sure there is a space between the two.
