This thread might catch on or it might sink to the bottom. This thread is for snowmobile discussion, talk about upcoming snowmobiles, your snowmobiles, stories. Everything snowmobile. I bought a 91' Tundra LT for $100, the thing runs first pull every time and came with an extra engine, clutches, gearbox, and track! I pulled the carb off to check for dirt and it was spotless. They had these dumb spacers on the skis to make it more stable but really just angled the skis so that it is always pushing snow, I took those off and it looks a bit better (for what it is). There is quite a lot of rust, mainly on the tunnel and runners but other than that it is solid. Neither lights work but that's not a priority for me. I'm planning on swapping the tired 250 Single for a 380 Twin Rotax since they apparently fit. If I can't get a cheap engine I might put cheap universal air cones on the carb instead of the stock airbox.
Polaris is the only one left making 2 stroke snowmobiles My experiance with Polaris quads made me turn away from them.
I also have a 2001 Phazer 500 Twin. It may sound like a small engine but in good riding temperatures and around 6k it is a blast. I have the idea of a 700 triple swap seems as the SXR shares the same body.
I used to think this was the coolest thing ever when I was younger, what was I thinking?!? I'm not a special snowflake who cries over the Confederate flag but it just looks ugly on this F7! Maybe this would look snazzy on the LT
The '06 Arctic cat BearCat 570 may only be a 570 twin but those things can go hella fast and can pull and climb excellent too. My dream Snowmobile is either a F7, SXR 700 or a 600 Powder Special.
