    Good evening,
In order to work in Beamng.drive as a vehicle artist and 3d-modeller, which skills are needed? Which softwares must be used?
Thank you for developing the game we always wanted but never tried to ask for!

You’ll need BeamNG itself, a 3D modeling software (Blender is the most popular) and a text editor of your choice. You’ll also need some 2D art software for textures and materials. Apart from that, study official vehicles, especially the recently released ones, so that you can learn what sort of modeling requirements there are in BeamNG. Once you’ve got a vehicle modeled, yet again return to BeamNG’s official vehicles to study their jbeam structures and how they react in different situations. I wish you luck in your vehicle creation journey, just know that it is a long and hard one, BeamNG is one of the most complicated games to create mods for.

Thank you for the compliments! :D I am the vehicle lead, also came from being an artist as well. Ah yes, Jackets64 nailed it. Basically skills, need to know Game 3D art (including how to optimize) also need to have a good mechanical background. At least knowledge of how cars are put together and what parts fit into what. For software, doesn't matter as long as your output is in Blender :). We have some 3dsmax users that just export to blender before submitting the files.

but in the end, I would say most of us come from modding communities, just creating mods will give you the best knowledge on all of that stuff :D! But yeah good luck with it, we all started from somewhere, it's just important to keep trying and putting the time into it :D
