    I have a pretty ok rig :
    I7 8700K OC 4.7GHz
    GTX1080
    16GB RAM
And Beam NG installed on my SSD.

In 2 years of playing Beam NG i always get arround 45 to 70fps on highest settings in 1440p but since last months my fps is very variable. It goes from 50 to as low as 10 fps for few seconds then go back to 50 etc. This is unplayable.
I already try go une safe mod, verify the files in the game launcher, in steam, reinstalling the game, wipe all mods but nothing..
Sorry for my english, i'm french.

As you are on OC, and season changed, did you check your temperatures?
By your description, it sounds like CPU Thermal Throttling.

Still, if you are on OC, you should first check without it please.
Weird things can happen related to OC, even when things looks like they are working as they should.

Yeah i know, i forgot to mention that i already tried without my oc (first by reset the value on my bios then clear cmos..). So this is clearly not OC related

Does this happen on any level? Or some in particular?
Did you check if the speed of your hardware is dropping while you play? (the fact the lag lasts only a few seconds is quite suspicious)
