-------- Updated 18.10.2014 - Renault 5 Turbo rally skin by tom666 (replace the original materials.cs with the materials rally.cs from the configs folder) - Added working lights - New tires to choose from (they all use the same mesh but you'll see the difference..) - Custom engine sound (thanks to Fireboyd78 for the custom sound mod and Mr.Hankey for no need to edit game files) - Fixed tire textures and reflections - Some other minor edits that I can't remember -------- Warning! If you are updating from an old version you MUST remove the old version first and remove any cached files from C:\Users\YOU\Documents\BeamNG.drive\cache\vehicles\rena if you're using the experimental version of BeamNG.drive. -------- So I've been working on this for a few days and I think it's time for a beta. Please note that I do know the deformation isn't very good and there are many other things to improve on. This may or may not work in the experimental.. Thanks: Skype group for support All of the beta testers Credits: Model and textures from Forza 3 Gabester for the original Covet jbeam dkutch for his awesome Ibishu Covet MRi mod that was used as a base for this mod tom666 for gauge textures and the Renault 5 Turbo rally skin Me (Suokkola) for n/b edits and some mesh modifications Some pictures: (restored the download and fixed some bugs. more than likely the final version)
Awesome! - - - Updated - - - This thing is freaking fast! Make some needles and properly texture the interior on this thing when you have time to.
Very nice mod. Only one thing that I find "off": the real Renault 5 Turbo in stock form had 160hp and 221Nm torque when this one only has 122hp and 167Nm of torque.
New version available . Tweaked the engine a bit and added some interior stuff. I had planned to make some needles after learning how to add them, so.. Still missing some textures but at least that's a start. Didn't even notice that.. Thanks . I'm planning to redo the textures from scratch when I get some extra time/motivation.
You could use these as a base for your textures so you only have to edit the UV's (they're from dirt 3) Attached below (includes body, no lights cos you've done them and interior)
Love this little car needs a lot of work though, Not sure if you noticed the tire texture is on wrong? Would be good if we could also change the colors. Before and after a propane explosion
Yeah I noticed pretty early and it's going to be fixed eventually. After all it's a beta for a reason . Changeable colors are also planned. Thank you . I'll take a look and see what I can do.
You're welcome. Glad to contribute to this project in some way - - - Updated - - - Worked out how to remove the grey body keep the decals and make it recolourable. Doing it now Edit: Not really worthy of a PM so I'll say it here. Make sure you're car is the active vehicle Okay press F11 then mission group and select ThePlayer (should be at the bottom and have the beamNG logo next to it) then press F4 (should take you to material editor. click the drop down menu then select body_001 go to layer 0 and change the colour (the lower the alpha the more shiny the paint is the lower the alpha the more matte the paint is) So basically you just need to get the colour selector/changer to change layer 0 instead of the rest. Don't know how it's done but it's probably defined somewhere in the material.cs
I'd be very happy if you could do that . ... Re-texturing the interior.. The new textures may not be 100% accurate but it still looks much better.
Look at post above - - - Updated - - - Have you considered replacing the different types of wheels with different coloured rims ? all you need to do is open up blender copy and paste the old wheels and change the rim material to e.g rim_blue or rim_red and rename the copy to what it says here : in the wheel jbeam so for e.g rena_slottedmag_RF (which is front right) then export the .dae overwrite the old one (Remember to delete the cached file otherwise model edits wont show up) then in the game material editor change the rim_blue to the rimblue.dds in the rena folder. Attached the alternate wheel colours below incase you don't have them. PM me if you need any help oh btw It'd be cool if you did this with the different colours of decals aswell. Again PM me for help. Only got 5 posts till I'm at 500 posts !
Why is it that mine is missing like an entire lod of the model? I can only see the doors. I checked the part configuration and nothing was missing. I'm on the latest stable version.
Try deleting the cached .dts file. I had the exact same problem updating from 1.0 to 1.1 version of mod and deleting the cache solved it. Running experimental though.
