I remember there used to be a tool that would delete unused items from a maps .zip, does anybody know if this is still around and works?
Is this what you're looking for? https://www.beamng.com/threads/beamng-map-options-map-duplicator-and-renamer-v0-3-05-sep.3768/ It has a tool in it similar to what you're describing... I'm not sure how much use it's going to be nowadays though, especially since many of the files maps had back then are different (Such as materials.cs now being main.materials.json, among other more significant changes,) and I don't think the program can identify these new files, many of which replaced old files it looked for. Your best bet now is just to delete any unused assets by hand in the case of a complete map, or when starting out, only add assets to your art folder as you need them. Btw it's nice to see you're still active Glass View Mountains is a great map, I'm excited to see what else you have planned
YOU ARE A LEGEND, exactly what i am after, hopefully it still works well enough to decrease the file size. Thanks, Glass View Mountains is the exact reason i was after it, but since i merged all the art folders from all the base maps it was a bit big to upload i like having access to all the object while editing. --- Post updated --- Kinda still works, seems to delete too many textures but dropped over 600mb from the zip file, hopefully it still works after i upload it, my crappy hacky way of doing worked on my end at least.
