This is our fifth championship. This is the next championship in our official racing series. This time, we will be going back to the basics with a simple free-for-all 60s face-off. We will also not be using procedurally generated tracks for this championship. Anyone may participate in the championship, and you may post/join any time before the due date. This championship will consist of 1 event over 3 weeks: Hirochi Raceway - Full Circuit To participate, do this event by going to time trials, selecting Hirochi Raceway, and selecting Full Circuit. In the options settings, select 2 laps. Leave rolling start and reverse disabled. Change time of day to whatever you want. Then upload a video or replay file of your best run by the posted date for the event. Post your time and the video in this thread. In the video description or your post, include whether you used a keyboard, controller, or steering wheel. Also include fastest lap and total lap, as well as a screenshot of the end. There are only 2 vehicles allowed for this championship, the Gavril Barstow and Burnside Special. You may tune these to your heart's content, as long as it uses only vanilla parts. The Ibishu Miramar is not allowed for this championship albeit more 60s than the Barstow is because it was very light and agile, blowing the other two cars out of the water in nearly every way. Finally, please use only 1 post per event for all of your submissions. It helps a lot when going through to tally scores. If I missed anything in this post, please let me know. Also, if you have done a championship in the BeamNG Rally Group, you should already know the rules here. This group is heavily based off of that. Current Tally (March 1st 9PM EST) CapKirk: 03:21.612 - 1:37.977 BombBoy4: 3:22.895 - 1:41.750 This chanpionship has ended, congratulations to the winners!
Yeah me too, it was just suggested to make a team championship. Now that that didn't work, we can keep lying ideas until we have a solid few to use, then I'll throw some side competitions in
I'll be joining in here with a Burnside...if the Miramar isn't available, that is. May I ask why it isn't available for this championship? Is it too OP?
Yeah, it was a bit to agile, powerful, and tunable to make it. Also, the championship has now begun. Good luck to all competitors
I set up a Barstow, can I join the race? --Moderator Merge-- Ok , I will post my time and a recording when i get a good run.
Yes of course! Anyone may join at any time during this championship, since there is only 1 event. In other championships with multiple events you may still join, but you would be disqualified because you had a DNF for an event.
Just so you know everyone, you may post as many updates to your time as you'd like (spoilers would be nice), as long as they are in one post. I will only count the lowest score from the first post you've made. Also, please do not post anything below this post besides your official score, and in one post. If you have a question, PM me. --Moderator Merge-- Put it in a zip file and upload it, or take a video of it and upload to your preferred streaming site.
I'll start us off then Gavril Barstow - Racing Wheel 3:22.895 - 1:41.750 Spoiler: Baseline 3:40.804 I used a stock TrackSport to set this time, as a baseline for my car. Spoiler: Run 1 - 2/27 3:40.803 - 1:49.214 A quick test run to get my name on the board, and to live test my setup against other racers. Spoiler: Run 2 - 2/28 3:30.046 - 1:43.853 I've changed my car a lot for this test, as well as my racing wheel setup. To start, I changed the engine from a charged small-block to a N/A big-block. I changed out the tires to handle the heat and added nitrous to supplement corner exit. Also, I fixed a big problem with mid/out-of-corner oversteer shaving off lots of time from deliberately retarding throttle. Then, I increased FFB to the maximum this car could take it to before clipping so I can really feel the slip angle and adjust. Spoiler: Run 3 - 2/28 3:27.042 - 1:42.176 After learning my replay didn't record for run 2, I was forced to do it again. I actually shaved 3 seconds off! Spoiler: Run 4 - 3/2 3:23.803 - 1:40.849 A complete tuning makeover for my build, putting in ~50 laps of testing. Lowered differential locking to reduce oversteer and added more N2O to counter the lower exit speed. Also many alignment/suspension changes and new wheels. Spoiler: Run 5 - 3/2 3:22.895 - 1:41.750 After a brilliant 1st lap, I proceeded to do an abysmal 2nd lap. Slippin' n' slidin' everywhere, braking too late, etc. Anyways, shaved 1 second off.
I'll go next. I improved my time through the second run despite a sloppy first lap with some modifications to my Barstow. Gavril Barstow - Controlller 03:21.612 - 1:37.977 Spoiler Attempt 1: Attempt 2:
So apparently I made a pretty fast configuration. It wont let me upload a replay file (it tells me its an invalid file type) so what free program do you guys use to record for YouTube so I can prove my time?
Sorry, but the Moonhawk is not allowed this race, check the rules. To upload a replay, simply use a zip file.
Okay, I'll enter it with my bone-stock Roadsport plus. I have a faulty steering wheel....... It will take a while.
Can I use my Minimalistic Tachometer mod for this? It doesn't help with power or anything, it just looks nice xD Tried to go in my roughly 1,000 horsepower 1,500 pounds of torque 600 RPMs beast, but it was too fast, Lost control so many times I backed out of that race. Going to downgrade my supercharger and try again. I might have to back out of the race. I need traction control. If I can't get any in my barstow I'm doomed. Welp. No traction control. Cya guys. Hopefully the next championship is something I can really use xD
Extending this championship one more week so that there's more than two competitors, please find the few minutes of your day to race, it means a lot
