Hi, This is the Raven R60 that I am working on. I have PM'd the file to the requested place. Things that I am having issues with (in priority order): Tyres They seem far to springy and squishy causing the car to bounce around quite a bit. This also causes further problems by making it near impossible to sort out the suspension. This can be seen quite clearly when accelerating an braking when the tyres will collapse, on corners you can also see them flex a lot. Suspension Mostly the same sort of thing as the tyres. But it doesn't seem to be so good at dealing with bumps in the road. But without decent tyres it makes tuning it properly very hard. This can be seen when driving in general. Especially in how the car handles bumps in the road. Wheels Inverting While cornering the wheels tend to invert on the hydro causing the wheels to end up perpendicular to the road. It recently got much worse since I made the suspension softer but I haven't spent a huge amount of time on this issue yet due to the above two issues. This is more difficult to reproduce. But you will likely notice it if you are thrashing the car a bit. Paint I can't figure out how to get the colour selector to work. So the vehicle is always mirror like. Some added notes: No wheel models yet, so you will need to use debugging to see them. The mesh isn't any where near finished, so doors etc are applied to the same nodes as everything. I am currently using a single jbeam file. That will get separated out eventually. Thanks for any help
Hey, - Tyres A: tires are very complicated structers, there's put lots of time in the official tires to get them where they are now. If you don't already use official tires I suggest you do - suspension & wheels inverting A:this is probably due to a faulty suspension geometry. The margin for errors is very low, I'll look at it to see if I can see some errors. -Paint A: this is due to a incomplete materials file, there's no first and second layer defined in your materials file, the second layer takes care of the color. I'll send you an improved materials file.
In regards to the tires, make sure jbeam scaling factors did not mess things up for you. Scaling is removed from official vehicles now, but if you started with an old version, putting tire properties from a Grand Marshal into a Hatch would cause things to be too soft, for example. This only applied if you started months ago with old files that have "scaleBeamSpring": and etc in them.
After some fiddling this has worked very well. The tyres now function like tyres and don't collapse in under breaking. Scaling was what made creating the original tyres difficult as I couldn't figure out what values actually would have worked.
It will likely be a quite a while away. Still lots of work to do on it, however it is much closer to being done than shown in the above images.
Yes, there has been plenty of progress. However please don't necropost. https://www.beamng.com/threads/deve...r-contributing-post.1575/page-537#post-558337
