does anyone know what is happing to this website because i have not been able to find new mods on here for the last 3 weeks

 

Mod approvals have been suspended (probably) due to Disney drama and the new update. It is unknown when mods will be approved again.

Disney was recently hacked and (allegedly) it was through a BeamNG mod with malware

 

The repo has nothing related to Disney

 

The Disney thing is a brain fart! I don't know why people keep repeating it. Even if a Disney employee played BeamNG and downloaded a mod with malware onto a company computer, that wouldn't be the starting point for a whole Disney hack. The attacker would have to circumvent an entire framework and that would require an unknown security problem in the operating systems. If that were the case, you would read about it in the media and it would result in public updates for Microsoft Windows. Nothing like that happened!
According to media the disney hack has been done with the help of an employee, who opened a backdoor so it was possible to steal disney's data. The hack was about protecting the rights of artists and blackmailing Disney. It has absolutely nothing to do with BeamNG.

But I really regret that we users are not informed by BeamNG why the repo is down and what their "security improvements" are about. I have already asked about and - who would be surprised - received no answer. Sad!

Roight now, the repo is opened again !!! (Or seems to... It say it's down on the frontpage till now but I receiveed messages for mod updates. It's real!)
