I got recently a Quest 3 and it is a great jump over the previous Rift S I had before. Although it is wireless, so I bought Virtual desktop app as I was told that it does increase the quality of the connection, compared to quest Link itself (and cost less than the official link cable).

The problem is that when I run the game from Virtual Desktop, everything is fine until I turn VR on. At that point I see 2 rendering of the scene: one rendering is the normal view I would see when using the VR headset; and the second rendering view is on top of it, as a smaller screen on top of it. I tried to search online for a solution but could not find a way to stop that behavior.
If I launch the game from Steam without Virtual Desktop, when I switch to VR mode it does not work very well using Steam link app, as the framerate is not really that good; so I am stuck as I cannot use regular wifi link via Steam with the Quest 3 and it does not work as expected with Virtual Desktop.

Any clue about how to solve the issue? I assume others have the game and use Virtual Desktop? How do you run the game ?

I gotta admit I don't really understand your description of what you are seeing. Virtual Desktop works great for beam: try switching the OpenXR Runtime to VDXR. You can find that setting in the Virtual Desktop app on your PC under "Options". With VDXR set you won't need to run steamvr or oculus link.

Thanks, not sure how to explain it. I have the preset in my Quest to see the desk and a monitor, as if I was in a room, so the game start on this "virtual" PC I have on the "virtual" desk. Everything is fine until I press the button to trigger the switch on to the VR mode; and then the screen goes dark, the usual oculus background appear (the one that show that 360 picture with the image of BeamNG icon loading). Then the game load in VR mode but another view appear right in front of my face, as if there was another screen glued on my face, that move when I move my head around, within the VR space.

I cannot take a picture in the VR headset and on the monitor it just show the regular VR view you would see if I turn on VR on the Oculus while wired; which is why I do not understand if the issue is Steam VR, Virtual desktop or the Quest 3 itself or BeamNG VR mode. Other games works fine with Virtual Desktop, I can play MSFS2020 without issues with Virtual desktop for example.

BTW the OpenXR runtime is already set to VDXR; codec is set to auto. I didn't touch anything from default settings from the Virtual Desktop Streamer app, and I have the latest version of the Oculus App on my Windows PC, the latest version of Steam VR (I removed it and installed it again), latest install of OpenXR from Windows store and latest install of BeamNG that Steam has.
